Makes me wonder if these are just hot takes for ratings sometimes. These takes are easily forgotten since the "next thing" comes quickly and everyone just moves on lolDan "Overhype" Orlovsky ladies and gentlemen.
If Simpson was 6'4" he'd be in the discussion for the top of the draft. But he's not 6'4". Also even if he was there are legit reasons he'd still end up as QB2 in this draft just in terms of his play in the big games thereafter.
In Simpson you have a dude where we're talking about a six game or so stretch in his entire fucking collegiate career. Think about that one for a moment. The rest of his career the dude was warming the bench. Oh but look how amazing those six games were. Let's not go further, though, and consider how his game imploded vs tougher competition in the bigger games.
And again what I'm taking exception with here is the hype. Because I don't hate him by any means but holy fuck man. Just stop. The fact the kid is being sold as a top half of round 1 QB is more than enough pomp and ceremony. This draft cannot get here soon enough.
Nah do it for Tyson, you'll get the same reaction lolThis is one of those situations I want us to take a certain player in Simpson. I couldn't care less I just want to set on the sidelines and watch people melt down. Not sure if popcorn or marshmallows roasting in the flames would be a better snack to see the end of times happen on ROD live
The amount of people that are projecting their opinions on to this player and the Rams is truly amazing. "I trust McSnead" and "OMG they can't draft this overrated scrub" it happens daily around here and it's very entertaining. I'm almost hoping we trade up for him to make it worse.

For the Network? Nah, for Orlovsky? AbsolutleyMakes me wonder if these are just hot takes for ratings sometimes. These takes are easily forgotten since the "next thing" comes quickly and everyone just moves on lol

QB talk gets the most clicks, and no matter how many "hot takes" a guy gets wrong, the minute one pans out it becomes their calling card. Like that stooge Daniel Kelly who claims to have such a high success rate when his takes are terrible
Having a bad take doesn't take away careers though in this business. There's plenty of people on air that suck at projecting players yet remain. The draft is a crap shoot so yes, its totally plausible for any analyst to have a once and a while shit take for the sake of ratings. Whether its to enhance themselves or the network is totally up for debate to me, but I would probably lean towards clicks just for their own content/opinions. So are you telling no analyst ever has a shitty take? I think the problem occurs if they continuously have shitty takes which I would not put Orlovsky in. I personally just don't believe Simpson to be good at all. Dude should have had more starts in college and the history backs it up. Honestly anyone on either side could be wrong but you got to choose one regardless. I'm choosing with Simpson is way overrated and sticking with it. I got as good a chance at being right, 50/50 baby!I severely doubt guys are going to put their reputations on the line for ratings for the network. A good or a bad prediction can stay with an analyst for life. Orlovsky's not going to look like a fool so ESPN could get another point in the ratings. Why can't a guy just rate a quarterback? Why is it so hard to believe that Ty Simpson might actually be good?
What is your point? McShay doesnt have a record, he doesnt chase clicks. He covers the draft from every angle, and is always updating his mocks. I like Orlovsky because he's pro-Rams, but I see his takes for what they are, chasing clicks. Its comical when folks want to defer to a higher authority with these guys. So again, what is your point? You are what your record SAYS you are. I bet Orlovsky and McShay have winning records. But go on some more about "hot takes."
Bet when Orlovsky was slurping Stafford all those years you didnt MIND Dan's "hot takes" so much.
C'mon man, it ain't that serious is it? Is that you Dan? I'm just fucking with you bro. Orlovsky or McShay like any other analyst can and have had shitty/hot takes before, but that's not their main forte. There are some analyst out there that have made their living that way. Florio comes to mind. You are what your record SAYS you are. I bet Orlovsky and McShay have winning records. But go on some more about "hot takes."

Cowherd comes to mind too. You might be right about Simpson, then again, you might be wrong.C'mon man, it ain't that serious is it? Is that you Dan? I'm just fucking with you bro. The question is why do you sound so offended? You really shouldn't be so I could be misreading it as you're just passionate about tye subject. I even said makes me wonder in my original post by the way. Neither you or I could prove it one way or the other anyways. I wonder because at the end of the day, all these shows are in it for the clicks and attention. Gotta make that money. I'm not mad at it at all by the way if it were true. Its the off season, shows gotta have someone/something to talk about. Its literally the same conversation about a polarizing player or 2 in every draft. You can TOTALLY choose to believe and rank Simpson as "not good at all." You can be 100% right on this. But just because someone ranks him in the other direction you should not automatically say that they are doing it for "clicks" or "hot takes." Just take it that this is this man's opinion and it is sincere and when the dust clears you can laugh at him for being wrong if you like. There is not some sinister conspiracy at work.

I'm ok with that, 50/50 ain't so bad hahaha. If the Rams draft him, I'll be pissed off and criticize the pick but I'll also hope he makes me seem like a dumbass for doing so because at the end if the day, I want any Rams player drafted to be an absolute beast for us. Doesn't really matter what my opinion was.Cowherd comes to mind too. You might be right about Simpson, then again, you might be wrong.
Meh. Some will melt down no matter who we take. Probably most are more likely to offer words of justification even if they don't agree with the pick or trade to move up or down. But yeah. There would be some exploding noggins. This is one of those situations I want us to take a certain player in Simpson. Lol, you bastid, you responded where I edited/added the part about misreading too. Slow down hahahaOffended? You completely misread me. I'm just of the opinion that an analyst like Dan can say something and mean it instead of just saying something for attention. That's just me.
But isn't it fun to see though lol..... I just enjoy it because its what we do. We cheer, we go off the rails, but at the end, we still want the Rams to be the best team every year. I personally just choose to enjoy the process since no one truly knows how it will work out in the long run.Meh. Some will melt down no matter who we take.
