Maybe Quinn and McDonald start but come out quickly if we can establish a nice lead?

That might be best case scenario.

Thank goodness for our depth players. They can benefit from the reps while giving some starters an opportunity to heal.

Never know with Fish. He's one of the more mysterious coaches in the league when it comes to his weekly injury reporting.

As to McDonald... if there's a game where the Rams defense would prefer to rest him it is this one. Safety responsibilities vs the 9ers are very heavy on run support. All that aside though, McDonald is a critical piece for our defense. If he's out it's a big blow to them.

NFL Network says McDonald is OUT at the bottom of the screen, but everywhere else it says questionable. I think he plays.

If Tj cant play that means Alexander gets to play. If so he better be ready especially since Barron is playing LB

Quinn, Long, Ogletree, TJMcDonld, EJGaines. That's the core of our D, make no mistake.

So up steps Sims and Hayes (plus Westbrook), Mark Barron, Mo Alexander, Lamarcus Joyner.

The biggest drop off imho is:
Quinn + Sims > Sims + Westbrook
Robert Quinn is a special talent. Gregg W will need to scheme to replace his pressure, but we knew that already and Williams already dials up blitzes like a bachelor party in Vegas dialing up escort services.

The biggest vulnerability is TJ McD being replaced by Mo Alexander, see if he can fill not just his assignments but all the other little things TJ did in the secondary to make it really click. If the other guys need to make up for deficits in SS play rather than SS play allowing the CBs to take more risks, then our secondary could get exposed. I mean, not by the likes of Kaeperpiss, but by some real QB.

Let's hope Mo A can step up! Former S Jeff Fisher must have seen something in the kid, right? And he does fit the mold for what Gregg W looks for in a SS. So here's hoping!
