I don't know what kind of screwed up rating system ESPN uses but how is Stafford 10th?
It's not ESPN. There are two Quarterback Ratings Formulas that have been around a long time.

The more generic one (around for decades) values Completion Percentage ... Yards-per-pass-attempt ... Touchdown Passes and Interceptions based on Pass Attempts (so 5 TDs in 50 attempts is 10% which is much better than the 5% resulting from 5 TDs in 100 attempts).

Stafford is 6th in the Generic Ratings category right now at 113.2.
All the QBs ahead of him have a higher Completion % and 4-of-the-5 have a higher Yards-per-pass-attempt.

As the posters above noted, QBR considers rushing stats. It also considers Quality of Opponents' defenses.

As to your Darnold comment, his completion % is higher and his yards-per-attempt is significantly higher than Stafford's. While Darnold has fewer TD passes, he also has fewer attempts, making their TD-to-attempts almost equal.

In my opinion, football stats are often meaningless Bull-Shit.
Now, I am a nobody on this topic but Sean McVay said the same thing about a week ago.

Would you rather have an Edge with ...
... 12 sacks / 25 pressures / 15 QB hits; or one with 8 sacks / 50 pressures / 30 QB hits?

In my opinion, Stafford has been great this year; and outstanding in all seven post-season games he has played in his Rams' career. I love the guy ... in a meaningful and deep way ... clearly, I have issues.

I knew a lot of stuff like that went into the ratings but when Donald has 2.5 X the number of interceptions as Stafford on less pass attempts that should skew the numbers more than what they apparently do

Agree, and I would much prefer Stafford to Darnold.

Think the discrepancy in Interceptions (favor Stafford) and Yards-per-attempt (favor Darnold) cancel out; and the small difference in overall Rating (the Generic one, not QBR) is based on Darnold’s higher completion percentage.

Most analysts just use EPA and DVOA now and don't bother with QBR or completion percentage.
Nor do they measure how a QB can manipulate the defense with his eyes and throw no-look passes to fool them. Stafford is one if the smartest QBs I've ever seen in my 60+ years of watching pro football.

Honestly, the guy manipulates defenses better than any Rams quarterback I've ever seen - and I feel safe in saying that not even Warner, Gabriel, Van Brocklin, Waterfield, or Bulger could do what Stafford does on a weekly basis. Hell, the man manipulates defenses better than any current quarterback period. The hard counts to draw the defensive line offsides and neutral zone infracting. The no-look passes when cornerbacks think that he's not picking their guy. The subtle looks to move safeties.

And when you get him out in space and give him time, he will pick you the fuck apart. OH, and did I mention the sheer arm strength and arm angles, the occasional escapability, and the fact that he's probably the toughest son of a gun I think I've ever seen on a football field?
Love Stafford, but not entirely sure he's better than Warner at his peak. Warner was a fucking beast at his peak. I'll just say they are both awesome. That's just my opinion lol
