MVP is subjective like most awards. All that matters is wins and losses. Just win.
That's how I view it as well. Stats can be misleading in so many ways.

For example:

If you look at the Rams offensive stats from the last game, and you didn't know the outcome, there would be no way you would think the Rams won 35-7. The only difference was how McVay managed the game.

Top 5 passing yards per game, top 5 Passer rating, leading league in TD passes & tied for division/conference lead in team wins
Yup, that's a resume for an MVP
And if not for a few missed throws he would most likely have 20 TDs at this point to just 2 INTs. MVP type numbers for sure. That Mumpfield TD was a pure MVP type throw.

I think Stafford is playing very good football right now.......... but........ and yes I know this is fantasy land but I think most would do this in a heart beat.

If I was in charge of Ram player personnel and I got a call from the Chiefs and they wanted to trade Mahomes for Stafford today, I would do it in a millisecond. And as soon as I got off the phone I would have Stafford's Locker cleaned out and have Mahomes name and number on Stafford's ex-locker and tell Konata Mumpfield to pick a new jersey number.... then I would call back and ask the Chiefs if they want Higbee and Atwell for Travis Kelce and I would offer to eat both Higbee's and Atwells payroll..... The Rams would instantly blow up.... No more dealing with Sofi take overs... well other than the screaming Swifties. lol .... And we would get three more trophies in the next 5 years.
That is not what MVP is. Who is more important to their team? That is Most Valuable Player.
The other players added to this conversation just muddles it.

Really the whole thread is kind of a "muddle" to me to even be talking about an MVP......

I like Stafford and he's a pretty darn good fit in LA, but to me there is no way at any point in Stafford's career he has been better or more talented than Mahomes or Allen. Granted I never watched Stafford during his time with the Lions and maybe some of you saw some greatness there that I missed out on.

For now I'll just stay in the moment with Stafford, and hope he stays healthy.

Honestly, the guy manipulates defenses better than any Rams quarterback I've ever seen - and I feel safe in saying that not even Warner, Gabriel, Van Brocklin, Waterfield, or Bulger could do what Stafford does on a weekly basis. Hell, the man manipulates defenses better than any current quarterback period. The hard counts to draw the defensive line offsides and neutral zone infracting. The no-look passes when cornerbacks think that he's not picking their guy. The subtle looks to move safeties.

And when you get him out in space and give him time, he will pick you the fuck apart. OH, and did I mention the sheer arm strength and arm angles, the occasional escapability, and the fact that he's probably the toughest son of a gun I think I've ever seen on a football field?

There's MVP talk about Stafford and that's good because when I see the QB rankings every week, I tend to wonder who's doing the ranking because to have Stafford in the 2nd tier REALLY MAKES ME SCRATCH MY HEAD. Right now, they have Stafford ranked 9th...but more than stats is the EYEBALL. We know Stafford isn't that mobile, like a Mahomes or a Allen and I'm not saying Stafford is better than those two...but to not have Stafford top five IS CRAZY!!!

The best thing I'm seeing in Stafford this year, is he's taking care of the ball and making very excellent throws!!!

I don't know what kind of screwed up rating system ESPN uses but how is Stafford 10th?

As always, his stint in Detroit is viewed as a failure. Nothing but a stat hore. Then when the trade was made, none of the talking heads viewed it as a positive. Most predicted it would be a huge mistake. So none of the talking heads want to acknowledge how wrong they were. Plus he doesn't run and QBR, created by ESPN, leans into the running QB.
