If Rodgers isn't playing next year, Stafford has a good chance to get into the top 5 or 6 in career catagories.
Needs 1759 yards to become #5 all time
Needs 135 completions to become #5 all time
Needs 3 TDs to become #6 all time
Needs 3 4th Q comebacks for #3, 5 for #2 and 8 for #1
But more importantly, with a SB win, he will join an esteemed crowd of QBs with multiple SB wins (12 as of today). Of those 12, 7 are Hall of Famers (Bradshaw, Montana, Aikman, Staubach, Peyton Manning, Bart Starr and Bob Griese). 2 more are certain HOFers (Brady, Mahomes). And I'd argue the other 3 should be in the HOF (Eli Manning, Jim Plunkett and Ben Roethlisberger). But circle back to one who is in. Bob Griese. He is remembered for winning 2 Super Bowls but probably more famous for being part of that 72 Dolphins undefeated team. I have a problem with both of those things.
1. In the 2 Super Bowls, he was 8 of 11 for 88 yards passing and 6 of 7 for 73 yards. His SB total is 14 of 18 for 161 yards 1 TD 1 Int.
2. In that undefeated Super Bowl season, he started 5 games (5-0) while Earl Morrall started 9 (9-0).
I gotta say, nothing against Bob Griese but if he got into the Hall of Fame, those 3 (Eli, Plunkett and Roethlisberger) should all be there. And if Stafford wins another SB, he should be a first ballot lock. Hell, if Stafford didn't win another but won MVP, he's more impressive than Bob Griese, who never won an MVP (Super Bowl or regular season), despite winning 2 Super Bowls by throwing 18 passes (1 to the other team) and handing the ball off 90 fucking times.
