No fun in that.
The Rams start out 1 and 5, but are improving. They put together a string of wins and end up 10 and 7 and make the last playoff spot. They are hot at the end of the season and win a playoff game. The season is a great success because the young guys started to put it together and infused the vets with energy. They gain playoff experience and are in the hunt for the SB in 2024.
McVay gets coach of the year because he held the youngest team in NFL history together when everyone was picking them to win the Caleb sweepstakes. Morris surprises many of us and runs a top 15 D. Mostly because of the big improvement the second half of the season. Rated top 5 in the last 8 games. Which gets him the Head coaching job for the Chargers, who again under performs. This puts Staley in the running to be the Rams DC but McVay picks someone else.
AD has a 20 sack season because Brown eats up blockers and our bevy of young edge rushers combine for 23 sacks. Put that together with the MLBs sacks and other random blitzers and the D racks up around 55 sacks with untold pressures. Of course this creates many turn overs. The rams lead the league in turn over ratio and Defensive scores the last half of the season.
The offense becomes top 5 out of the gate scoring 32 points a game.

Stafford has his best statistical season ever and wins his first of 2 MVP awards. Kupp scores 14 TDs and over 1500 yards and 10 pancakes.
Cam also has his best year rushing for over 1300 yards and 16 TDs.
Of course this great offensive season is due to the revamped Oline. The only injuries suffered were to Allen and Boom.

Now THAT'S a specific prediction if I ever saw one!!!

OK Brian, I think the offense might be pretty good if the OL holds up. The defense, well, with only 2 returning starters, no proven edge rushers, no vet in the secondary, I think they will have a hard time getting off the field.

Where are you seeing all of this negativity??? You mean because not everybody thinks this team is a Superbowl contender?? Sounds like more of your hyperbole...

We will see. I'm entitled to feel optimistic about my team. Just like it's yours to put them down. But as a true fan I find that a strange position. I know a bad team when I see it. Watching the Chargers flail around and waste talent for decades. I don't see that in this organization. I do feel optimistic so that isn't hyperbole. You talk about other fans being optimistic about their teams as if it's delusional thinking. Perhaps it's you? Because I find negativity by someone who professes to be a fan as being strange.

The only difference is glass half empty vs glass half full. You look for reasons to be negative I look for reasons to be positive. I look at the players they have and they aren't scrubs. They are simply inexperienced, which can be mitigated by good coaching. Case in point, was Aaron Kromer. He was fine when coaching vets, but was out of his element developing young talent. Carberry could coach up young talent but only take them so far. Wendell has been an UDFA who became a good starting center over his NFL career. He knows in ways Carberry didn't what it takes to make it in the NFL. That is why I think he's exactly the kind of OL coach this young OL needs.

Aubrey Pleasant blossomed under Wade Phillips as DB coach. He understands both man and zone coverages. It's why I'm hoping his influence will change how the DBs play. You have to wonder if Pleasant was brought in as an option to Morris. If he were to become DC I think he would return it to a true hybrid 3-4 scheme playing a one gap attacking style on the DL (which Donald thrives in) and not this read / react Fangio mixed front. Fine against the run but shit against the pass.

I'm not blind to this team's faults, but I don't arbitrarily discount potential strengths simply because of draft position. Case in point, Zach Evans dropped from a low first round grade to a 3rd or 4th round grade not because of talent but because of potential attitude issues, things of which his teammates won't tolerate at this level. If he buys into the we not me of this lockerroom the Rams could have a real steal at RB.

McAllister and Maginn went undrafted because of the programs they played for not because they don't have talent at the very least they would elevate the depth on the OL. Byron Young has all the traits you look for in a good edge as does Hampton, Turner will be a starter on this team, not this year but when AD retires. Safety Taylor is everything Rapp wasn't, so he's a clear upgrade. Hodges-Tomlinson projects as a SCB but he can play outside in zone or man.

The offense starts with the OL and it hasn't looked this promising in years. Avila is a legit starter at OG as a rookie. They are two deep at center with Allen and Shelton. Bruss legitimately can play either OG or RT and probably become very good at either. The same can be said about Jackson who can play OG / OT and gives them a good option at LT if Noteboom struggles coming back which I don't think he will.

Puka has looked very good at WR and projects to be #3 WR this year by November if not earlier. This offense is basically intact and upgraded with Evans, Nacua, Avila and TE Allen. If Atwell finally emerges, this will be a very dangerous offense. So what's not to be optimistic about? That is optimism not hyperbole.

My prediction is Jerry will be talking SB's during training camp, but the cowboys will inevitably disappoint me.

I predict the team will start slow because of the Defense but by years end the defense will be in the top 15. The offense will be much improved right from the start and we pull off some upsets. 10-7 will be our record. Also McVay gets HC of the year.

10-7 likely gets us into the playoffs then. Nice. And then to that superbowl I'm guaranteeing!

Yeah he really deflates the humor potential when he bags on his Boys doesn't he. :laugh4:

I think Dallas has a chance to be a contender. Whereas our Rams have a chance to be an early exit type wildcard. But the beauty of the NFL is the parity and how you just never know. Well, unless you're a Shitters fan and then you know they'll choke.

I'm gonna hold off on predictions until I see a little bit of camp and hear how things are being stacked. OL in particular and who they play where is important for me to decide whether we maybe found a diamond in the rough in our new OL coach or another guy who is going to come up short.

I’m still going with 8-9/9-8. We might sneak into a wildcard. Depends how we’re coming together and lack of injuries towards the end of year.

Waiting to see who makes it through camp uninjured. Then I will predict. So many things could still happen before September.

Ugh. That’s a big one. Every camp it happens to somebody. Last year it was Bruss for the Rams, but there are always others throughout the league.

Going into camp with players coming off injuries is another indicator to watch. Last year, for the Rams, it was VJ, Higbee, and Akers to some degree. This year it will be Fuller and most of the OL.

As for other teams, probably the biggest injury returns for the Rams to watch are the 9er QBs and cowboy RB pollard—both teams are expected to make the playoffs.

Deep into playoffs.
Rams still have: Stafford, Kupp & Donald.
Online might not be stellar, but will be solid.

Hi everyone. Great win today against the Giants!

I thought it'd be fun to look back to June 2023 and see what we all thought.
