The NFL has missed the boat.

They could have started a developmental league and put teams in 16 cities, 4 divisions, and made a profit along the way.

Smaller cities with small venues, and let undrafted players try out. We have talked about this a little bit here on this board.

Cities like San Antonio, Portland, Orlando, Columbus and several others have an MSA of over 1 million people so they could easily get 20K or so to a game.

That's very strange when it's struggling to support two at the moment.

What is even stranger is that they picked Tampa! They are struggling to giveaway tickets at the moment. I'm not sure if it happened but they were bracing themselves for the game against the Panthers last week being their lowest attendance since they moved to the Raymond James Stadium.

I've been to a few games there and there is usually a high percentage of away fans.

yeah I dont get it,its been proven LA is only a ONE MARKET pro football city who want ONLY the Rams.they have it clear they dont want the chargers but somehow they think they will support this new team especially since the Rams are a serious superbowl contender?

Don't forget about the Alliance of American Football with Martz heading the San Diego Fleet. They start up in Feb 2019 too.

Glad to see san diego has a team ready to replace what belonged to them, the chargers.they dont need the chargers, the chargers need THEM.I was in SD this november and some of the charger fans have the right idea and right mindset saying to me- san diego did not lose the chargers, the CHARGERS lost san diego,it was THEIR loss not san diegos.

It's a spring league, so it's not really taking on the NFL.

The problem is the players. Those guys need to rest after an NFL season, so even though the time window for the season is in the spring they are definitely taking on the NFL in terms of targeting talent.

For now there is no real challenge of course. Down the road though their model is poised to be a head to head competitor for the NFL. I was just pointing out that they should have went after that AAA market the owners have been too damn cheap to create. Or get all crazy and go south into Mexico and so forth.

If you remember the other efforts at a 2nd league had second tier talent and IMO they were sloppy games. That was actually the only entertainment value IMO, the Keystone Cops element. If the NFL was behind an effort it would be different because they could throw money at it in ways these guys can't.

As usual, I think this circus sideshow will be a good novelty attraction, but will ride off into the sunset in relatively short order..

The XFL will play in the spring after the Super Bowl. So, the XFL would have another LA team, but in the NFL offseason. It's more like an extra team to root for, or like a cherry on top. Rams fans can root for the LA XFL team since it doesn't compete with the Rams.

I'm gonna root for the LA XFL team...why the heck not? I'd enjoy something to chreer on during the NFL offseason!

Call me dumb but I have never understood the "He hate me" thing. Too embarrassed to ask until now. :cautious:
It was a saying he picked up as a kid and had for a long time meaning "he's gonna hate me for this". Like, if he was out after curfew, and his dad would be mad if caught, he'd say "he's gonna hate me for this." After a while he shortened his phrase to He Hate Me.

On his jersey it was to no one in particular. Could be tossed at many things, like the opposing coach is gonna hate me when I score here.

He Hate Me...I loved it. Very creative to add to the back of a jersey.

Mine would read, "Wife Can't Stand Me"!
