Lol @ Gnats hitters. 10 walks and they could only manage one run on a bases loaded walk. Icing on the cake would be the Dodgers eliminating them from playoff contention this weekend.
True, My buddies kid pitched last night and he (and Verlander as well) have been getting screwed in run production all year by the Gnats. (My Babe Ruth Team "Webb & Associates" won our city championship in '80 :sunglasses:and Logans dad and uncle were teammates of mine, and Logans grampa sponsored and coached us)

This is the 4th or 5th game this year Webb went 7+ innings 1 earned run and still took an L due to the pathetic sticks. The dude leads the league in quality starts, innings pitched he's got old school endurance. With minimal run support this year he would be around 18-6. Not 14-11.

He's a badass, and needs to come to the good guys side. Go Dodgers!

I'd like to say I wish him well. But the Giants and 49ers are the two teams I could never root for. Even though it would help us with the Rams I'm not sure I can root for the 49ers to beat the Falcons.

Id welcome him to the Dodgers but for now he’s on the wrong side of the division.

Another decent game from Scott - not great but decent.

Still not sure I trust him in the playoffs though.

Oh yeah, how could I forget Shohei! 5 hitless innings. With that 100mph+ fastball and sweeper I wonder how he would do out of the bullpen? They won't let him go past 5 innings so far. Might be more valuable in relief. I really wish Tanner Scott and Kirby Yates could figure out what's wrong with them. They were both pretty darn good last year. I'm not sure either one should be on the playoff roster.
Ohtani would have a hard time warming up in the bullpen between at bats. Possible but hard.

Only problem with relief is if they only put him in for a couple innings, they lose his bat if they take him out. The way the rules are written (stupidly), if he starts, he can stay in the game as DH if they replace him on the mound. If he comes in as a reliever, he’s out of the game entirely if they replace him on the mound. It doesn’t make much sense but I just read this the other day.

My disdain for the Niners far exceeds that of the Giants, but the Dodgers are my team since the ‘70’s when I was a. Kid.

I will absolutely be rooting for the Falcons to beat the Whiners. A slightly better draft pick is not worth wanting San Fran to win that game.

As for Logan, he’d be great in the Dodger rotation. I think he has one year left on his contract in SF. I could see it.

8 games left. 4 wins clinches the division. Or any combination of those wins and Padre losses. They already clinched a playoff spot. Not likely to get a first round bye. At least they're have home field in the first round. After that they most likely won't have home field advantage. But playing at home in baseball is not as much an advantage as it is in football and basketball. If they can draw on their talent and experience they might get it done. We'll see. Bottom line is the bullpen. If they get it together they have a chance. If they don't, it'll be tough.

Dodgers play before a home crowd in most stadiums. :sunglasses:

Glasnow going up against kid from Taiwan with an ERA over 6. Those are the pitchers that have been shutting down our offense lately. We'll see how this one goes.

Good win. We’ll just act like that little period with Yates never happened. I missed the start of the game so I don’t have to acknowledge that first inning either.

Nice way to head toward the playoffs. Let’s keep it going and come in hot.

I am so hoping that Kershaw and Sheehan can pitch out of the bullpen.

1 0 lead on a 1 hitter thru 7 - Treinin comes in - bam ... 3 runs

Why did it take 3 weeks to diagnose Smith with a hand fracture?

From A Dodgers site:

1. Imaging Challenges

  • X-rays: Standard X-rays frequently miss hairline fractures, especially in the first 10–14 days after the injury, because the break is very thin and doesn’t always create a clear gap in the bone.
  • CT scans & MRI: These are much more sensitive. MRI in particular is often the gold standard for detecting stress fractures because it can reveal bone edema (swelling) before the fracture line is even visible, but MRI’s are not given out like candy. An X-Ray is generally the first method.

2. Symptoms vs. Severity

  • Hairline fractures often cause subtle symptoms — localized pain, swelling, or tenderness that gets worse with activity but may improve with rest.
  • Because they don’t always cause obvious deformity or severe pain, they can be mistaken for a sprain, bruise, or muscle strain.

3. Healing Indicators

  • Sometimes the first sign of a hairline fracture on X-ray isn’t the fracture itself, but the new bone formation (callus) that appears as the body begins healing — usually a couple of weeks later.
