I like probably a few thousand of Dodgers fans felt that moving Betts to shortstop was a horrible move.
Kinda hard to convince people the move didn't affect his offense. He'll have to bat .350 or better the rest of the way just to match his previous worst batting average of .264. Last year he had his lowest HR total since the shortened covid season. But he also missed almost a quarter of the season with injury. In the covid season he had 16 homeruns in 55 games. This year he has 11 in 99 games. I don't think the move to shortstop is just a coincidence.

You got a really good young prospect in Adam Serwinowski in that three-way deal with the Reds and Rays. Big, projectable lefty who’s been brought along slowly. I think he could rise up your ranks.

I’ve been harping on the Betts move to SS all season. Really bad move.

Got Joe Tibbs the third. In AA right now a good power bad in his 2nd year their #5 prospect and a top 100 guy.

Dodgers with an underrated deadline. Getting younger players (Serwinowski and Tibbs III) for players they didn’t need. Not the splashiest deadline, but might factor into greatness down the road.

Why the fuck can’t Mozeliak do that?

They still need a good closer. A little disappointed that they didn't go get one.

But their other transactions look to be okay. I am not happy that Conforto is still on the team.

Frustrating loss last night, back at it tonight.

Weird early on our hitting carried us, now its the pitching., We will synch it up at the right time!

Man - we missed Muncy.

When all these writers were saying we needed to replace Muncy with another player - I was thinking - just wait.

Unfortunately, he does get hurt frequently.

He changes the lineup! Good to see Teo get going too. Take the series today!

Still struggling to maintain a .500 pace. Bullpen couldn't hold a lead again. Throwing error by Freeland didn't help. But they tacked on another run after than so it woulda been another loss anyway. Offense shows signs of breaking out one day then struggles the next.

They're slowly increasing Shohei's outings. 4 innings today. 8 strikeouts. The lone run he gave up the ball didn't even leave the infield. The guy who scored reached base on a pop up lost Rojas lost in the sun. Then scored on a two out bunt. I'm guessing the plan is to work him up to 6 plus innings by October. But I wouldn't pencil them in the playoffs just yet.

If they stay at a .500 pace the rest of the way that makes around 90 wins give or take. A far cry from when people were talking about 120 wins. Getting pitchers back from the injured list should help but the offense will have to find its groove if they want to think about a first round bye.

Even if they make it to the playoffs, their bullpen reeks right now and if they don't turn it around, the Dodgers will go out in the first round.

I did say "if" - so there is still a possibility.

But damn - their bullpen has lost so many games this year that they should have won per the odds.
