he didn't jump kupp, woods or jefferson on the depth chart. or even desean jackson.
and the rams used him as a return man even though he had never done it in college. so he looked a little awkward in that role.
therefore the rams missed on him.
.
Man, no way.I would let Von walk in FA. He deserves a "retirement" bonus and let some bad franchise pay him that. Really like what he's added but not interested in paying him for however long he hangs around.
I do admit Odell seems unlikely due to cap and all. But he is worth making room for. He is the kind of talent the Rams cannot get in rounds 3 and later and is in his prime. You do what you need to do, to include moving Woody to make room for him.
Otherwise next year looks shitty for us at wideout. Pedestrian. Doesn't look like a unit that will be able to compete with some of the high powered offenses in the playoffs. Hate to say it as I love Woody but this might be the price of missing on Tutu, at least in part.
He's also been a friggin bust at Center.....I'm not writing Tutu off as a WR yet. No way. What I saw in preseason looked promising and his college tape is great.
What I'm COMPLETELY writing him of as is a KR/PR... I don't ever want to see him there again.
Et tu, CGI? ~ HekkerLooking ahead, yeah… I feel good about 2022.
Beckham will be an interesting one to watch. Both sides could be motivated, but thats a lot of $ going to WR.
We need to draft a running back. Probably two.
I hope we see more Rochelle this year, he feels key to off-season decision with Darious Williams. I think we lose DW, either way.
We need punting competition. I love Hekker, but his contract is out of line with his play right now. I‘m not sure I see it changing.
The guy came in mid season into probably the most complicated offensive system in the NFL. Not only did he pick up things quickly, but he has consistently been getting open and is a huge red zone weapon for us now. All that with zero chemistry with his new QB and having to build that rapport on the fly. You see how many deep balls and choice routes Stafford and him have missed on? Some have even led to INTs. That wont happen next year if he resigns.Beckham has done well.. but he's not outperforming Woods numbers, is he? The TDs, yes.. but those are so high-variance.
Beckham may have potential to be more dynamic but he’s not proven to block as well or run the ball. Plus he’s gotten the label of fragile. I love his reliable hands and ability to make spectacular catches but that doesn’t equate to Woods value in this offense.I think Beckham is significantly better. Question is whether he can stay focused, that maturity side. Because with Woody you're giving up a workhorse.
They are both 29 years old. I don’t recall Woods ever having the dropsies. The guy came in mid season into probably the most complicated offensive system in the NFL. The only thing Woods is better at is blocking, and his leadership as a captain. But all other facets of playing WR, OBJ is equal or better than Woods. And he's younger. I personally love Woods a lot and what he brings, but if we can trade him and keep OBJ I'd rather go that route. Because he is such an unstoppable force 1-on-1 in the redzone, and that is the most important aspect of offense, scoring TDs in the redzone. He can run after the catch just as good as Woods, and OBJ even gets more separation on routes due to his explosiveness. Plus he offers a bigger route tree because hes a true weapon deep. AND he has better hands.
I'm laughing really hard right now. He's also been a friggin bust at Center.....
I guess I don't see it that clearly at this point, but you're right about all the factors that OBJ is still working to overcome. The guy came in mid season into probably the most complicated offensive system in the NFL. I hated the pick and was hoping he'd change my mind. I'm mostly writing him off. This guy got his ass knocked around so easily at this level. It's almost as if the wind could tackle him lol. I just truly believe he's not built for it. The NFL is just too physical for him. Wasn't Tavon's college tape (fuck I'm getting old lol) awesome too? Hope he proves me wrong, but so far proving me right. Coulda had Apollo Creed's mistress's kid smhI'm not writing Tutu off as a WR yet. No way. What I saw in preseason looked promising and his college tape is great.

Nah I got you. I know others are going to give the guy more of a chance than I would and rightfully so. He definitely deserves the right to prove himself. He seems like he's got good WR qualities, but my concern was always his build because once he got hit, it was like he realized fuck these dudes hit hard as shit and they are just as fast as they are big. Also, preseason can be deceiving as the defenses are no where near as good as once we get to the regular season. I'm not going to be cheering that I'm right if he doesn't pan out because I understand these guys bust their ass to get to where many others would kill to be. Sucks to not have it work out. Hopefully he figures it out, but I wouldn't be surprised if we draft another WR to compete which we seem to do every year lol.Yeah, Tavon's college tape was good.
Anyway.. Tutu actually played WR in college and ran routes and caught the ball very well. Those were things we also saw in preseason.
I'm not saying I expect anything, but I'm also not writing him off completely.
