Regardless of how this season ends how do you guys feel about next years team? Let me say this season has been a blast aside from the month of November its been great. I personally feel next years team has a better chance to ascend depending on what Rodgers and Brady do in the off-season.. Woods hopefully comes back and hoping Michel stays and pair him with a healthy Akers, I personally think skys is the limit with alot riding on Stafford improving as well. Lets hear it.

I agree but hopefully there is a lot of football left for us to enjoy still. Like maybe 6 games. :startstruck:

I'm very optimistic about next year, but am very optimistic about this year at the moment!
This year's team is still very much a work in progress and getting better every game, imo.

So much can depend on who they sign/re-sign/restructure, who they lose to free agency and how well the draft.

It sounds like they really want Von Miller to return. I’m not sure about OBJ. Like many others I hope Stafford isn’t going to try to break the cap.

There is a long ways to go but with the core in tact it is still promising for next year.

Where else would OBJ rather be? He is working his way more and more into a pass heavy offense where he can excel. He is in La La land with his girlfriend. If the money is right I think he would rather play in La than anywhere else.

I'd bet money that Stafford doesn't push for a big raise. I'd guess $30 a year average, max.

There is pride though and not sure you can pay another WR more than $7-8M a yr and he will want north of $10M.

More than player turnover, we need to finally have some stability with our coaching staff to truly be best positioned to succeed. That will be the Rams' biggest advantage going into the 2022-2023 season vs. previous years, if we can achieve it.

The more successful this season is, the less likely that is to happen.

It depends on money. Kupp and Woods are owed a lot and up until his ACL tear Woods has been more durable than OBJ in recent years.

Woods and OBJ are the same age (29) so it’s a push there. Woods has been proven to be an excellent fit in this offense. I just wonder if the Rams can afford all three.

I would let Von walk in FA. He deserves a "retirement" bonus and let some bad franchise pay him that. Really like what he's added but not interested in paying him for however long he hangs around.

I do admit Odell seems unlikely due to cap and all. But he is worth making room for. He is the kind of talent the Rams cannot get in rounds 3 and later and is in his prime. You do what you need to do, to include moving Woody to make room for him.

Otherwise next year looks shitty for us at wideout. Pedestrian. Doesn't look like a unit that will be able to compete with some of the high powered offenses in the playoffs. Hate to say it as I love Woody but this might be the price of missing on Tutu, at least in part.

Missing on Tutu and to some extent even Jefferson. Van doesn’t seem to be more than a number three.

I don’t think Beckham offers a lot more than Woods. If you consider Woods excellent blocking and his runs I give Woods the edge.

I’d love to know how Harris was developing before his injury. By draft slot he should have more value than Skowronek but we know that’s not always the case. There are some very good receivers in this coming draft but starting at the end of round three likely puts them out of theRams range.

Please provide evidence that we "missed" on Tutu. Or did I miss something and he retired already?

I think Beckham is significantly better. Question is whether he can stay focused, that maturity side. Because with Woody you're giving up a workhorse.

I wonder.

Van has turned into the guy who can keep defenses honest on deep routes. Beckham has done well.. but he's not outperforming Woods numbers, is he? The TDs, yes.. but those are so high-variance.

It is my opinion. This isn't traffic court, there is no requirement for an opinion to have evidence.

I don't like that McVay has already criticized his dedication. So in discussions for the 2022 season I don't think the Rams can count on him. That, by extension, affects their WR plans.

Had Tutu shown us some dedication and maybe flashed a bit here and there like Jefferson did down the stretch in year one then maybe we could count on him in the depth of option equation you need to have a strong passing game. But at this point I believe that would be a mistake.

So if we change nothing and let Odell leave our weapons in the passing game are Kupp > Woody > Jefferson > Skow. Not a bad group. But not an elite group either.

Replacing Woody you would have Kupp > Beckham > Jefferson > Skow. Better threat at two. This isn't hate or anything for Woody, but we can't pay 3x receivers and Kupp isn't going anywhere.

he didn't jump kupp, woods or jefferson on the depth chart. or even desean jackson.

and the rams used him as a return man even though he had never done it in college. so he looked a little awkward in that role.

therefore the rams missed on him.

Nobody would be happier than I would be to see Tutu kick ass next year. But that seems extremely unlikely to happen.

still early and he can improve all aspects of his game, let's wait one more season.

Just a bit of patience before we write him off..
