Totally agree, it all comes down to the money at the end of the day - and the quality of 'homegrown' talent just wouldn't be there. But if the NFL (as an organisation) wanted to go down the route of having an overseas team it might be something to look into - maybe set up sports scholarships for certain players which send them to Europe for a season, you know kids on 'futures' type contracts - I don't know - but it would involve 'spacetravelesqe' investment, and I really don't think the interest would be there. Soccer is over here in the UK and has a stranglehold on most sports fans (me excluded - its far too boring for my liking).

I think this is happening. They've just bought out Bud Light over here, surely only a matter of time before we get an NFL team.

Jacksonville Jaguars
As the designated home team for the International Series, the Jacksonville Jaguars are often mentioned as the most likely existing NFL team to relocate to London, leaving their current home of EverBank Field in Florida. It is often pointed out in support that current Jaguars owner Shahid Khan is himself based in London, and also owns London soccer club Fulham F.C.

While Khan admits the move has been a success in terms of improving the finances and profile of what was a small and struggling franchise, he has nonetheless been reluctant to commit to a move, preferring the current arrangement.

On March 27, 2017, it was reported by City A.M. that the Jaguars are in discussion to build a permanent training facility near Wembley Stadium if done the team would be the first NFL franchise to have a training facility built outside of the U.S.

Target date
Reporting on unnamed sources who attended a 2012 meeting of the NFL's International Committee, CBS stated that while league/owner discussions of a possible London team had previously generally been regarded as a "more a far-off concept than near-term possibility", the mood had now palpably shifted to one of "when, not if", with the NFL planning for a London team within 10 years, earlier than some team owners had anticipated.

It was believed that because other issues such as the CBA renegotiation had been resolved, creating a London franchise was now being treated as a focal point of the NFL's desire to expand globally.

In both 2014 and 2015 the Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne confirmed he was in talks with the NFL over the arrangements for setting up a London franchise, and that it could be achieved "in the next few years, maybe four or five years time."

Given the size of London, it has even been suggested by Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank that there could ultimately be more than one franchise located in London, although not before a team in another European country.

If Khan is building the Jags a training facility in London he is definitely moving. Wouldn't make any sense otherwise.

I have to always google your posts lol. Was trying to figure out why a stadium in UK would have a statue of Michael Jordan outside of it. However, a statue of Michael Jackson makes less sense... or maybe about the same. Either way, not seeing how that wasn't an improvement. Does Manchester have a weird obsession with Michael Jackson? I wouldn't know.

Stop fucking moving teams, NFL. Seriously. Stop it. Let franchises build roots and nurture them, quit fucking chasing extra bucks and killing fan loyalty with your mercenary teams.

Psycho the previous owner of Fulham was a pal of MJ, Mohamed Al Fayed. He was also famous for once owning Harrods and his son dying alongside Princess Di. He put the statue up then claimed Fulham were relegated because Khan took it down! MJ even made a guest appearance at craven cottage as you can see below.........

The way the owners are going, they just want to maximize their profits as much as possible and then let their product take a shit with everyone else around it.

NFL has spent $12.8 million on new soccer/football stadium in London

At a time when NFL teams are moving from city to city to find more lucrative stadium options, the league is putting some money into a stadium overseas.

The NFL has spent $12.8 million on the construction of a new stadium for soccer team Tottenham Hotspur in London, according to ESPN.

Tottenham and the NFL agreed before construction began that the league would contribute some of the money toward the $1 billion stadium, and in return the league would get amenities including NFL-sized locker rooms and an NFL-caliber playing surface. The stadium will have a grass field for soccer games and slide in field turf for NFL games.

Starting next year, the NFL plans to play two games a year at Tottenham’s stadium, as well as one game at the iconic Wembley Stadium and one game at rugby union’s Twickenham Stadium.

At this point, the NFL playing four games a year in London looks like the minimum. The league is continuing to invest in what it believes will be a lucrative overseas market for many years to come.

Instead of relocating franchises or creating new teams, Roger should consider re-opening the NFL Europa League.

I think this would make many UK fans happy because the teams would all stay in Europe (thereby eliminating unnecessary travel costs). NFL Europa also developed many NFL stars back in the day. And we can still have a couple regular season games overseas too. For me, this idea is a no-brainer; however, I don't know how complicated running NFL Europa was. Personally, I enjoyed watching their games when the NFL Network aired them in the early-mid 2000's.

New Spurs stadium: Stunning images show progress inside south stand and NFL pitch nearing finish
The latest photos from the new stadium site show the progress being made
By Alasdair Gold

Work continues at Tottenham Hotspur's new stadium with that opening day approaching in less than three months and the latest photos from the site show just some of the progress.

There are now 3,500 workers on site, working in shifts across the 24 hours of each day to ensure the stadium is ready in time.

The latest photos from the site's cranes as well as locations inside and outside the ground have shown just how much has now been done on the NFL pitch which will sit at the base of the stadium, while the south stand continues to be covered in glass and that green pitch can be seen through it.

Lot's of obstacles to getting a London based NFL team. Seems like the NFL owners are the only ones that want this to happen. Oh well, the owners will do what they want to. Hope the Rams don't ever have to travel there for a playoff game.

While they're at it might as well move the Chargers to Mexico City. They don't have a home anywhere else.

Hoping the new Tottenham stadium opens on schedule as I should have tickets for the Seattle v Oakland game in October. Love getting those stadium ticks!

An NFL team with a permanent home in the UK will never happen.
