Looking good... When Quick is our "weaker" receiver and making improvements and plays like this, it's a pretty damn good sign we're not going to be watching the same offense this year. Sam will finally have guys to throw to that are open.

So who knows honestly. :shifty:

His family asked that his identity remain anonymous.

But yeah, we know he can make big plays like the one against the Vikings last year, he just has to do it consistently.

Whoa! It's difficult to tell in the video, but the comments say that was Jenkins who bit.

I'm not sure he used his head well enough in that fake, but nice cut.

EDIT: take that back... he used his head position. Well done BQ.

Yea. I'm a total nit-picker when it comes to route running but I couldn't find anything to get onto there. Shows great hip flexibility on that cut too.

That's Janoris no doubt about it...just watch him move..He loves to stare into the backfield which he did and the pump and fake by Quick torched him.

Daniels or Steeples cant and dont move like Janoris does...look how quick he turns and runs when he figures he is beat...he flips his hips...way late but he is real smooth...

Think that was Matt Daniels..

and dam nice move by quick

Matt Daniels has not practiced yet, as he is rehabbing from a knee injury. It was Jenkins.

27 is Giordano, 36 is Steeples 37 is Daniels (who hasn't been cleared to practice yet)

The player in the video is Janoris Jenkins. this happened in a 1 on 1 drill.

I went to training camp today. That was a great play and everyone noticed it. The person that caught my eye (and to me was the best player on the field) was Bailey Stedman. He was getting open all day and seemed to catch everything.

Sweet observation.

Happy for Quick, but sad that JJ is still making some of his same mistakes from last year. You peek too long, and bite at that fake, and it's a TD. If it's not a fake, he may score a TD. Risk/reward vs. situation. I was taught, and I taught that you never go for the INT, unless you are assured of getting two hands on it. It's better to keep the receiver in front of you and live another play.

Not taking anything away from Quick, he sold the slant well, took a hard, fast cut, and blew by the defender. Some credit has to go to the QB, who must have pump-faked effectively, because that is who JJ was looking at.

Corners will often peek at the QB through a 3 step drop to try to prevent a slant, hitch, or flat. The DB will line up slightly on the outside shade of the receiver, so that he can see both in his vision. It wasn't that he bit so much that got him in trouble, but he sold out. If you sell out, you better be sure.

They really need to coach-up JJ on that, otherwise we're going to be seeing opposition QB's pump faking on Janoris every Sunday.
