Brown and Havenstein had to face 6'8" 300 Lbs All Pro DE (2nd team 2014 All NFL Profootball focus) Calais Campbell. Campbell has 44 career sacks. He got half a sack Sunday. I think Brown will be fine.
I read he also had 11 tackles....11 tackles in one game...another writer (MISONE of TST) says Brown played Campbell well....I wanna see the game again...but seemed he was fine...few hiccups on some DE/DT twists/stunts...but overall, take him any day over Davin Joseph...Dahl too
I am nothing but proud of this mostly baby OL.
Yes Havenstein is getting better with each game. These 34's defenses that gave us big issues on the exteriors for yrs is improving. The left side continues to be the weaker of the two sides. I will agree with that.
The fact that this OL has stayed intact now for four straight games is even something. In the past we would have already been in several different starting OL's. I want no part of any change right now let them remain the same & learn to work together as one unit. But if any health issues do come up we have some nice variety of reserves not seen in many decades waiting in the wings. Reynolds/Donnal/Wichmann/Williams.
Having these strong young bulls upfront now IMO is the way to go. I would not return to the previous 3 plans of 2012 through 2014 with purchasing old worn broken down over priced free agents.
Me too Boni....3-4 D's were killing us last year....Havenstein's next big test will be against an aging Julius Peppers...I bet he's only gonna do better....Hell, he was the one I was worried about the most and has improved the fastest....I'd take G-Rob & Havenstein, at their ages, over any tackle combo's in the league...we got 10+ years of solid play coming from those two...That 4th quarter was fucking beautiful....Run when the defense KNOWS you're going to run....And I don't think AZ is all that in run D...They can't be...They start a SS at ILB...they DO miss Docket...eff them..
Next game....If we can run for close to 200 yards, in all that noise...After the break, look for a 5-6 game winning streak.
