After watching it, my impression was they are hopeful for Jackson coming back on the short week but its good to have an option as Noteboom at LT and Dotson at RG if needed.

Who knows what Mcvay is thinking.

IMO, you won't see Thomas play LT any longer. He is a guard and has no business playing LT. A.J. Arcuri is better suited for that and he is on the PS. IMO, they would have him active and quite frankly, maybe they need to promote Arcuri to the roster, unless they feel Warren McClendon can play LT, which he did in preseason, but Arcuri is more used to that.

It all changed when Jackson went down. We lost any momentum we mighta had. The thing is, he went down. Noteboom has a history of that too. We seem to have guys who get hurt and not much depth behind them. Thomas was overmatched. Anchrum came in for Noteboom and promptly killed a drive.

Why play Thomas at Left tackle if they played him at guard in preseason? I didn’t understand that line of thinking. Maybe they felt he was their best option but that mean they’ve got no real backup at LG.

This team needs to draft a top OLT and move AJ to right guard. Then AJ could move over to replace the new OLT if there is an injury.

Yeah if we add a top LT prospect in the draft then things look a lot better. We have depth at that point for swing OT, plus options for plug and play with the guards.

If Jackson would have held it down all year I would be singing a different tune. But here we are once again, in the same old fucking boat. OL and RB man, I'll tell you, it just never fucking changes with this regime. Even when we got it done it was with a wing and a prayer. They just keep doing both the hard way.

Draft some fucking reliable players for those rooms. Not pie in the sky "OMG if we hit on this guy think how cool it would be" types.

As God as my judge I sure wish somehow the Rams could draft Joe Alt out of Notre Dame and LT would be an afterthought for the next 15 years.

I didn't expect Dotson to play soon because the trade happened at the very end of August so he had came in cold as Rams had shifted from training camp/preseason practices to week 1 prep. So figured it'd take a month to get him up to speed outside of quality reps. But assuming he's got the offense down now I am all for trying him at RG. Noteboom got ran over this last game and seems to be playing (always) hurt. Even if Jackson is back I wouldn't mind trying Dotson over Boom at least until Boom is 100% again.

I used to hate Snead interviews/appearances due to his communication style, always comes across as uncomfortable and requires much translation/interpretation.

Now he is a refreshing alternative to the nonsensical coach speak of McVay. At least we get actual factual information and a real glimpse into the thought process behind some of these key decisions.
