The guy has averaged 9 sacks a year and they are getting rid of him instead of simply hanging on for another year and reducing the cap hit next year. I just don't get it.
I feel like they're getting big heads and are in the "we know more than you" club anymore. Happens to people after success sometimes. Get too cute.

Edge being completely overhauled it seems. Floyd out, both Lewis and Hollins cut mid season. Rams need to bring in 2 or 3 edge guys thru free agency and the draft.

Wonder if The Rams tweak their defense? I’d say go Bigger upfront? The Rams gave some nice pieces. What happens to A”Robinson DT?

I mean, maybe. But it seems like the Rams - as Jourdan has reported - are moving on to: A) Another type of team building model B) "Retooling" on the fly for the next few years as opposed to a blow it up "rebuild."

Maybe the pivot is a "we know more than you" or it's just fairly consistent with this management's desire to move on from "mistakes" they've made rather quickly. The mistake here is - I'm guessing - staying with the old model of all in with a few high priced guys and hoping the coaching staff can coach up some late round guys.

BTW, I don't know that that gets talked about enough. The attrition on coaching staff really hurt our ability to coach up late round draft picks and therefore really hurt our team building model by 2022 when the coaching staff was raided over years and bare.

I guess it's time to get younger. Again, I need to see how this all plays out before I judge.

With that in mind, moved the three guys most-mentioned for picks and went after the positions of need and other spots that seem to make sense.

Banks was highest-rated CB at #23 but they really didn't like that much...
Sorry no OL until 5th round. No RB at all. No bueno.

A bit if a retool happening and on paper we look to enter the season thin in many areas. If we prioritize correctly and hit in the draft and FA we will compete.
Protect the QB, get to the other teams QB and have an effective run game makes you competitive with all the pieces we already have.
I hope that is the direction we go while complementing the areas of need, TE, DB, WR,LB with players that can help

Say what
You want -Benton Whitley was better than Chris Garrett & got cut. He is a practice squad guy that will make the 53.

-Mark it down

The Rock Thank You GIF by Regal

Not unreasonable...have done a couple of others similarly and it is very difficult to grab OL w/out mission on ED/S and replace Ramsey at CB early on.

So…youre saying we’ve got a chance??

Because he's not an impact player anymore. Kudos to him and the org for giving his career a mini-resurgence after being a Bears cast off, but guys like Leonard Floyd come and go.

This org and specifically this leadership has been more right on the players they let go than not dating back to getting rid of Alec Ogletree. I think they earned more than the benefit of the doubt with the move they are about to make. Which none of which actually happened yet lol.

In his one full year with AD we got 11.5 sacks from Dante Fowler a sack better than Floyds best year with AD. Who knows what the deal is but the Rams seem ready to move on.

I mean they see these guys day in and day out and know more about their on-field performance and contracts more than any one of us. Their track record on their player decisions speaks for themselves. Almost every player peaked when they were on the Rams. Sammy Watkins, Brandin Cooks. Dante Fowler, John Johnson, Alec Ogletree, Darrell Henderson, Malcolm Brown, Troy Hill, Gerald Everett etc etc.

Did you miss any of these guys?? Why would getting rid of Bobby Wagner, Leonard Floyd, and Allen Robinson be any different?

I don't get it...why are we so quick to be against every decision a team makes even tho they've shown they've been right more often than not??

I admit I'm just in such a pessimistic mood right now that I can't stand myself.

But what burns me is the last few years they've wanted to rely on players that have been in the organization for the last few years at OL, EDGE, CB, S and TE that haven't panned out. That's what burns me.

Unfortunately, familiarity doesn't always reap great decision making see the Jaguars for evidence.
The caveat is I get where you are going and hope this is the case
