Free agency starts tomorrow. I am curious what you all think. List 1 foregone conclusion and at least 1 underrated move you might see the Rams take. Pipe dreams are allowed. The more realistic the better.

Foregone conclusion- Everett and Johnson are signed away immediately.

Underrated signing everyone will hate at first( similar to Woods signing years ago) WR John Ross on a 2 year deal.

Surprise cuts or trades
- Jake Mcquaid cut and Brockers traded for a 5th
Bonus- Blythe is extended in the 5 million range but are starting center is on our roster, not named Blythe

We probably can't afford it, but if we were looking at a pass-rusher reclamation project on a one year deal again, then I wouldn't hate Clowney.

$10m/1yr prove it deal like Floyd. I wouldn't hate that.

I completely forgot tampering started tomorrow.

I see us getting nobody the first few days.

I'd like to see Clowney it another EDGE on like a 2yr deal, rather then these damn 1yr and watch them ball and walk deals.

Don't you even!
Mcquaid has been beyond solid, I just see the Rams saving $$ wherever they think they can get by. They did just sign 2 long snappers to future contracts I believe. As far as Clowney he just seems to be the polar opposite of a Mcvay guy. I don't see any passion in his play.

Pretty sure McQuaide’s contract expired. So he’s a free agent and not a candidate to be cut.

Legal tampering sounds like an oxymoron to me, but whaddoo I know....
Isnt the 2 day period for teams to sign their own FA? I dont think they can talk to other teams

No, while teams can still sign their own guys, other teams can negotiate with the representatives of pending free agents and come to a verbal understanding ... nothing binding but teams and reps rarely back-out.

I think you're right on Johnson and Everett. However, Snead would hang up when someone offered a 5th for Brock. 1) He's a solid player that has played at a 2nd or 3rd round level. A 5th round pick is a huge loss to the Rams. 2) There's over a $4M dead Cap hit the Rams would be stuck with in 2021. 3) Brock's contract is reasonable for his production, we could realistically get at least a late 3rd.

I’ll play...

Foregone conclusion? Yeah, JJ, Floyd, and Everett are goners. First two strictly because of cap, dammit! Duh!

Underrated signing? I’ve got two. Fox for DL and some 2nd tier C that’s not on our front burner right now soaking up all the coverage. Don’t have a specific name but he will be a short term fix as was Sully back in ‘17. He will be relatively inexpensive yet will adequately hold down the position while Snead drafts and McVay then develops a Meinerz-type rookie.

Surprise move? How about a Brockers AND a Hav trade? Both would save substantial cap dollars and both positions are deep with replacement players already on board. If one could be a player-for-player trade then that could be a HR offseason move.

I'm actually hoping the Rams' newly developed reputation under McVay helps with some quality veteran players wanting to come play for a ring. If it's all about the money, we're going to be in trouble this year. It's tough to make these predictions without being more certain about our CAP and just how much our team may free up. jmo.

I mentioned earlier posts I watched Ross highlights in Cincy he looked pretty damn good. His routes were good his jump ball ability looked solid and obviously speed speaks for itself. He looked like he was on his way to being solid I'm not one of the better receivers in the league. Injuries and then just not playing him along with no qb til burrow no
o-line ....don't matter how fast you are if no time to get deep. Also was good after the catch. Truthfully I liked what I saw. Maybe to optimistic but I feel watching those he was on his way and would flourish with Stafford. To me if given the chance he could be a Marvin Jones to better depending on the opportunity.

Free Agency doesn’t start tomorrow (Monday).

The 48-hour pre-free agency window for negotiations starts.

There will probably be some rumors that will come out; and many my prove accurate

Marvin Jones on NFL Network all I can say is wow! He was stuttering and almost seemed like the rams were definitely there if not a done deal.
I don't know but even Mrob was kind of convinced. If you guys saw it please give your opinion. If you haven't then try and catch it.
I still feel one of our two receivers could be gone. Even if you sign Jones for 10-11 and trade kupp it's still a chunk of savings with can and woods .. if you sign him in the neighborhood of 9-10 that's still significant savings. You can get 2 players for the price of 1 in this year's free agency.
The Marvin Jones interview definitely seemed positive or negative depending on what your perspective is.

usually every year the tampering period Starts you see actual deals start to get reported and leaked. It's just a foregone conclusion.
