This is why teams shouldn't use 1st round picks and significant cap money on running backs.
Draft them in the 2nd-4th rounds and replace them when they are hurt.

1 player puts up 21 TDs(1st) and 1,831 (4th)yards from scrimmage and you think that could be easily replaced by a mid to late round draft pick? By the way the other 3 players ahead of Gurley in yards from scrimmage are also 1st round picks. This is why teams shouldn't use 1st round picks and significant cap money on running backs.

The guys who like disposable RB's come out of the woodwork with an injury...Gurley could be a HOFer RB, and you don't dispose of guys like that.Nah if you have a chance to take a player you think has generational ability, you do it. You weren't saying this when he was the OPOTY last year, I assume.
I'm more impressed that Gurley was on pace to break LT's TD record in a single season despite the injuries.
Most of us were thinking that something was different, those 40-50-60 yard runs turned into 15-20. When TG went off against the hags last year he was just faster than everybody on defense and it wasn’t close, and even though he’s got 1200 yards while only probably playing 14 games, which ain’t nothing to sneeze at, seems like that take it to the house speed hasn’t been there.
