Bombshell? Yeah, that's NYPost sensationalism.

Until a player is cleared, they're still under consideration by the League of being suspended. Puka hasn't been cleared. Nothing has changed. Schefter's references to closed door discussions and the realm of options . . . oooh, scary . . . are just what they are, discussions and options in the realm.

When the story first broke, long ago, suspension was a consideration. It remains so. From the League disciplinary process, at least the public facing part, things haven't changed.

Would be a pretty weak suspension since I don’t think she ever filed criminal charges and he’s never had any run ins with the law.

Agree. Seems crazy if he was suspended for this.
This is exactly why I said I do not trust the NFL to do the right thing. I thought it was more likely Jackson would get suspended due to his history but yeah this is pretty dumb since he has no priors. Hopefully it's just the rumor mill running wild because it's the season hasn't quite started and there's not much to talk about until the games are played.

Yikes, please don't say the word "injury" and "boot" in the same sentence...
Yes, those two are not good in the same sentence for a guy. Almost as bad as cute and little in the same sentence.

On the bright side:
If suspended thats less games to get injured.
We have a defense that could make the required offensive output much less.

This just sucks

Statements like “behind closed doors” that he doesn’t have access to and possible, potential, etc would make it appear that he’s throwing darts to see if anything sticks. The NFL would have to have more information that has been made public for them to suspend Puka. I’m not going to worry about what appears to be unsubstantiated assumptions bother me.

Yeah, I posted Schefters stupid comments earlier today in the Puka Rehab thread because it didn't warrant its own thread in my eyes. Pure speculation....

Well, this is unpleasant. Former Rams player and current Rams employee, D'Marco Farr said people from the NFL were "here" to meet with Puka and AJ. "I guess they're meeting with those guys today" - yeah, but he still says more than Schefter did.

Based on how the Elliott case went (link), there seems to be two phases where NFL people conference with the player: (1) when the NFL investigators conduct their independent investigation to determine whether the personal conduct policy has been violated; and (2) after the investigation and after the investigators have made their report, Goodell and/or advisors will meet with the player. Based on Farr's belief that the conclusion is coming soon, he seems to believe that the NFL meeting today is the late in the process meeting with the Commissioner's advisors and not the investigators.
