Fair enough. If he's on the market, the Rams must agree.

But; I'm not tossing anyone to the curb after 5 games. Cook is a big target, and a matchup problem. He's capable of big plays from his position, pretty sure we agree there.

The only debate is how consistently does he does it.

No doubt he's capable of big plays. He just doesn't make them often enough to make up for the bad plays.

You use fans broadly. I actually was very patient with each of these guys and never called for the Rams to get rid of Barksdale, C. Long, or Laurinaitis. I didn't call for the Rams to get rid of J. Long until he tore his ACL again. Same with Bradford.(and I was okay with keeping him if we grabbed a guy that could win us games as a #2) I wanted Wells gone his final year here because he was playing terribly.

So I'm actually very patient and reasonable with players. What does it say that I want Cook gone? Like Wells, I'm at the end of my rope. There's no way he should be on this team after this season.

I would like to say trading Cook is a good idea. I wish however that they had tried the other options a bit more before deciding on this move. Cook has one good trait that is still useful on the field, in that he is a threat that D's need to account for even if they are not throwing much to him. He has killed some key drives this year for sure and I do not like his demeanor at all when things are not going his way. He just does not come through in the clutch or on contested passes.

I guess if they can get something for him then get it. I assume this means he would be cut in the offseason, unless somehow he turns it around from here on out......magically.

I'm just looking for someone (some support) to look past 5 games.

He's not a pass dropping fool.

One of the things I don't see are complaints that Cig doesn't know how to use him in this offense. Has he had any opportunities up the seem? Most of his looks have been in short pass where he isn't really able to use his size and speed to make that mismatch happen.

I'm not happy with his lack of production and certainly not the effort I want out of ALL of the players. But thinking he alone has been "THE" problem with our offense is just looking for a scape goat.

The offense has stunk up the place a couple of different games. After the bye I expect them to go on a run and replacing a piece like Cook right now is just going to be more disruptive.

Keep the Gurley express going, for God's sake get the pocket more clean, quit using play action for what seems like every pass, get some quick throws mixed in the like the Seattle game.

Cook is not the cog that will get us in or keep us out of the playoffs on his own. He is a piece of the puzzle and Cigs needs to figure out how to get him to fit.

He's not the problem, he's a problem. Especially on 3rd downs. Every pass his way on 3rd down is a wasted opportunity for another player on the team. And an automatic 4th down for the team.

If the Horns are shopping Cookie, then clearly they have decided to go in a new direction. With super rook TGII emerging as the feature back, blocking becomes an even higher priority. Yes, Cookie may have the Horns' TE seasonal receiving record, but he certainly is not! the best TE the Rams have ever had. As a pure receiving TE, I would take super soft-handed Pete Holohan over virtually any TE who ever suited up for the Horns. As pure blocking TE, the best I saw for the Horns was the former decathlete, Ernie Conwell, who literally functioned like an additional OL guy due to his brutish strength.

Nevertheless, if you take Cookie's hands away, unreliable as they may be, you want to replace them with something much better. Hopefully, Kenny is healing up well over the bye. We now have Quickie, Kenny, Tavon, and Sted as our veteran WR's.

Are they settling for a draft pick, or are they hoping to trade for a live player, possibly packaging Cookie with picks?

There are 32 #1 receivers in the NFL. Every team has one. Some of them are elite, some are just average. Cook is our #1 WR and we need to do better than that. With the way our offense has developed in relation to the Gurley/Tavon short-game threat, someone needs to step up as a reliable, dynamic, dangerous deep threat. IMO that guy isn't on the roster. Cook could be a piece of the puzzle but maybe by trading him that helps the team sign a FA WR next year, or acquire picks to secure a legit WR.

I think the offense would miss Cook initially but maybe that forces one of the other guys to step up. Idk. I just know that i'm tired of our entire receiving core...and if it doesn't get fixed Gurley will be the next Steven Jackson on a one dimensional offense.

Did it say the Rams have him on the block, or just that teams are interested?

I would take just about anything here. I can't see how people can lobby for keeping Cook here. He has been a void for us.

Read page 1 and page 5.
Quit looking at stats, numbers, salary, and the relative merits of our WRs.

Use your fucking eyeballs. Cook sucks, period. Move on.

This is just the problem. Cig thought that Kendricks was the type of TE they needed to make the offense run. Kendricks can block well and catch. Notice how this year we are seeing Cook in more blocking roles? That is part of why the short passes. He is asked to block first. I am guessing that the Rams no longer think he can fit their offense since they want to have a run heavy scheme where TE's need to block.

From reports it is actually the Rams shopping Cook. Not just this forum crowd looking to get him off the team.

Has he ever caught a fade for a touchdown? I mean, what are his strengths if he can't compete for jump balls? He's fast but he barely gets open. He is just frustrating and Bailey needs to play.

Cignetti is using Cook right. How many times have we seen him wide open? A lot. Cignetti puts Cook in the right positions to succeed. It's not his fault Cook drops it every single time.

Just off the top of my head I've seen him drop 2 touchdowns and 3 balls on 3rd down that would've given us 1st downs to keep drives alive. Are those Cig's fault? Cook has all the potential and has the body to be a matchup nightmare but he has a hard time catching the ball in the clutch.

You've got to be kidding. You think Cook's performance is now Foles' fault?

On the Rams show this morning Fisher made it a point to say that the picks were not always the fault of the QB. This was just after they showed the pick six where Cook quit on the route.

Fisher has had enough and the cleanup begins!

Trade him. Get a 4th back maybe? Or a young center stuck behind someone (yeah right)?
