Bears coach was just answering questions directed at him that's all. I wasn't offended at all by what he said. Why would anyone be? He actually dodged the weather one because he didn't want to give bulletin board material. NO WAY is he like Ryan, who would turn and run to the locker room and NOT shake hands with Jimmy or whoever he didn't like.

The Bears could very well come out passing against the Rams, trying to throw them off on Sunday.
They absolutely will. Choice is attack our greatest weakness or make life harder on themselves.

I get your concerns about holding leads. It's been the only frustrating aspect to McVays coaching approach. Honestly I have come to terms with our DB's and to be honest they are better than I thought they would be. I'm banking on Lake to be in a bit more better game shape, so I think that will help.

If the Rams get off to a good start, McVay needs to keep at it with the offense unless it's mathematically impossible for the Bears to get back in the game. For example, being up 24-3 with 7 minutes left in the game I'm good with 3 runs, milking the clock and punting the ball out of bounds. Then the bend don't break defense should work just fine.

All I ask from the refs is to call it equally. Not the opposing QB wears a pink tutu and flags fly whenever someone breathes on him while Stafford gets face masked, hit well after throwing the ball and no calls. Or ticky tacky one sided pass interference or holding calls. We get that and I don't see why the Rams won't have a good shot to advance.

If we can get pressure on Caleb and hit him consistently, he'll throw it up for some stupid picks. I don't care who's QB, pressure and punishment go a long way to making one make more mistakes.
Getting pressure on Caleb is one thing, hitting him is another. He has such a great feel for open space and his athleticism allows him to escape into it. I sure hope we get hits on him but even more so I hope we keep him from explosives with his feet or throwing it downfield while running for his life.

This a case where you gotta make sure the edges don't let him escape. I'd rather they force him to throw rather than allowing easy first downs with him running.

I went through his game logs on PFR and couldn't find 1 that had an air temp under 20 degrees. With wind chill, I found 5 with a real feel of 20 degrees or under and he went 3-2. Hell, he threw for 520 yards vs GB in a 19 degree wind chill. Last year he beat the Jets in 14 degree real feel 19-9 and in 2018 beat the Packers 31-0 in 14 degree real feel. I'd watch chatGPT.....they might be including games in Detroit.

This is Microsoft copilot......

"How many games under 20 degrees has Matt Stafford played and what were the results?"

"Matthew Stafford has played very few games in temperatures below 20°F, and based on all available reporting, he has played only one confirmed game in that temperature range: the 2023 Rams–Jets game at 23°F—but no verified NFL record lists any Stafford game below 20°F. Cold‑weather stats are tracked at 32°F and below, not 20°F, and none of the sources show a sub‑20° kickoff in his career."

Like I said, I checked his game logs and found 6 games with an air temp 31 degrees or lower (3-3) and a total of 12 with a real feel under 32 (5-7)
Yes I included games for Detroit, as that was his career total.

Rams at Bears: 6:30 p.m. ET Sunday

Referee: Shawn Hochuli

Hochuli has similar experience to Smith. Hochuli, the son of former NFL official Ed Hochuli, has been an official for 12 seasons and a referee for eight. This assignment will mark Shawn Hochuli's 10th in the postseason. He's been a referee in every round of the playoffs except the Super Bowl, per Football Zebras.

Hochuli's crew tends to call more penalties than normal, coming in around roughly two additional penalties per game in 2025. They are typically costly penalties, as Hochuli's crew averaged 124.56 yards per game in penalties this season. The average crew called 101.77 yards in penalties per game in 2025.

Do we know which crew is gonna be refereeing the game? I certainly hope it is not

shawn hochuli I guess his record for rams games are 5-2
He calls a lot of roughing the passer plays and block in the back plays and holding. I guess

Front seven D needs to consistently seal the edge, and Shula need to quit with so much zone or Williams to Loveland are going to eat Rams secondary alive.

Rams D has regressed the last 7 games, giving up average 28pts a game. DB's struggling to cover TE's and bigger WR's.

This D need to step up and play like they did the 1st half of the season or the Bears O is going to hand their azz to them.

Rams O can keep pace if they can get the run going and control the clock.

We just need one guy to patrol outside when our four DL's are rushing the QB. I'd rather have two guys over pursuing instead of three.

We just can't leave our DB's on an island like that with their spotty coverage and dicey open field tackling.

I say have Landman keep both eyes on Caleb all day, and blitz on 1st downs.

Holding is good. Block and the backs will be called by the other officials.

I think we all agree the officiating has been awful, but if the Rams offense does what it's built to do an Angel Hernandez type ref could be officiating and we will still win.
So is being "built to do" something like scoring 35+ points per game?
That's what they've done over the last 6 games, with a 3-3 record, and 5 of the 6 were 1 score games
Officiating obviously makes a huge difference in 1 score games
