The way to play Caleb is contain him in the pocket where he won't be able to see as well. If he is going to run, then make him run backwards and around the edge to break contain. That way there is time for defenders to flow to him.

If they give him seams up front it's gonna be a long fucking night.

Good thing for the Rams is their own offense should be at just as much advantage. But I dislike shootouts. Just hope we can get out of there with the dub.
I highly doubt it will be a shoot out if Stafford does what he's supposed to do. I just don't see our defense falling flat on its back like Green Bay's D.

Nothing surprises me with the Rams. Given our corners, all it takes for an epic bad day for our defense is Williams having a great game. In fact let's just hope the offense fires off and we build a nice lead. However I don't know that any lead is enough with our corners, so McVay and Stafford need to keep the pedal down to the fuckin floorboard for the full 60.

Do not let up on offense. Period. No silly ass run calls to burn clock unless our OL is moving them around. Go with short gainers and rollouts with quick reads underneath on the early downs if we don't have LOS dominance.

I get your concerns about holding leads. It's been the only frustrating aspect to McVays coaching approach. Honestly I have come to terms with our DB's and to be honest they are better than I thought they would be. I'm banking on Lake to be in a bit more better game shape, so I think that will help.

Was really bad at it last season. Any better this season? I honestly don't think I've seen any changes.
I thought Verse was visibly better at contain this year, but it's still not a strength. My only complaint with Verse is I don't feel he took a jump from year 1 to year 2 in pass rush prowess.

I don't know, the more this week goes on the more confident I feel about this game. I had a bad feeling about the Panther game the whole time and while watching it. But I feel like I did during the 2021 playoffs now. I just feel like it's going to happen now. I think this gameplan is going to be similar to the one McVay used against the Cowboys back in 2019 playoffs. Especially if Dotson is back.

That's how you get on the PS 99.9% of the time
Not true. Again. Especially since they changed the rules.

In fact, if I'm not mistaken, 5 of the 15 or so current players on the Rams practice squad weren't on the official roster and released by team.

LB Ben Niemann
WR Tyler Scott
OL Royce Newman
Edge Jesse Lukta
CB Alex Johnson

But thanks for playing.:sunglasses:

Now lets take one of the names you listed there Mr Alex Johnson CB

Then we have the .01% left over from my 99.99% of the time comment in Mr Tyler Scott WR. He wasn't released by us but.....

I'm always willing to play. In order to get on a practice squad you have to be a free agent. In order to be a free agent you have to do what? Generally speaking you have to be waived in order to be a free agent.

Literally every guy you listed was waived before signing to the Rams PS. I got distracted by that and the .01% wasn't what I meant to put there. The .01% is actually guys who weren't on a team say like Weddle when we signed him out of retirement. We could have signed him to the PS instead of the active roster so that's the type of player that isn't waived before being signed to a PS. A "retired" free agent.

Keep the context of the exchange given the Rams were being discussed.

I questioned the Rams moving on from Durden.

Another poster thought he was signed off the practice squad. Turns out he was signed by Giants and released.
(Though a trade for a conditional selection or his maybe being claimed via waivers may have been possible options though I'm not sure of his status).

Anyway, he signed with the Patriots as a free agent the following year.

The added 99.99% comment in non blue font was entirely unnecessary unless you're still talking about the Rams.

I was super confident going into the Panther game.... I thought for we would knock the wind out that stadium, and it started out promising..... But just a few mishaps and we were in the fight of our lives against an 8-9 team again.

I think we can't take anything for granted this weekend.

If we can get pressure on Caleb and hit him consistently, he'll throw it up for some stupid picks. I don't care who's QB, pressure and punishment go a long way to making one make more mistakes.

Offensive Line Rankings show the Bears at 3 and the Rams at 4. This is gonna be some battle Sunday. The Rams DLine ranks 5 while the Bears DLine ranks 26th (by PFF)

The Bears could very well come out passing against the Rams, trying to throw them off on Sunday.
