IMO, the team should save one practice squad spot for a player from another team.

Why not see what someone else might have going for them? Could find someone potentially much better than what is on the team/practice squad.
I would have hoped they would have tried to convince a guy like McCord to sign with their practice squad instead of going back to Philly's PS. Wouldn't hurt to see if he could develop.

You expect them to re-sign Higbee?
It was more of a statement of the underachievement of Allen and Parkinson. I actually like both those guys and hope I'm wrong. But good point on Higs. I know he's had a lot of injuries, but maybe they can sign him to a 2 year deal before him riding off into the sunset. He's good for that room. And the team

Did we lose any potential starters? I've been wondering since cutdown day, when is the last time one of our PS players developed into a starter?
The Safety who lit up dweebo in the NFC title game comes to mind.

Got it. I'm thinking (Guessing) this will be the final seasons (with the Rams) for both Higbee and Havenstein ... also thinking they will move on from Parkinson because they will save $7M against the 2026 salary cap, with only $2M of Dead-$.

Again, and this is very important ... so remember this point ... I Really Don't Know Anything ... Got It?!?

Sounds like a LOT is riding on Ferguson.
If he pops, yeah, Parkinson and maybe Higbee are gone. If the Rams are not convinced he can handle being TE1, they probably find a way to keep Higbee.

I gotta say, for how much we (ROD) plan and emphasize upgrading/replacing and putting out to pasture Higbee…
He has not been easy to de-throne.

Maybe even next year when the Allen and Parkinson experiments end.

Parkinson, absolutely. But I'm not getting rid of Allen so easily. He's done well in limited snaps. And we need three tight ends, since Higbee is possibly gone after this year (I'm sorry, I like him and all, but he'll be thirty-two, and he's been injured tons.), and Parkinson being hopefully gone. Redman could possibly take the third blocking role or we could sign someone for it, but I want Allen on this team; he's a young 6'6" tight end with underrated receiving skills. He and Ferguson could make a deadly combo on 12 sets.

Good point. I would add, it also depends on what Ferg pops in. If he excels as a receiver but struggles as a blocker and inline TE duties, it's unlikely they move on from Higbee and Parkinson at the same time since those guys are our best blocking TEs.

Higbee has to have a healthy season. If he misses a chunk of the season again, then you have to move on next year anyways.

Agreed. Just saying that if Higbee doesn't remain healthy and they feel the need to move on, it decreases the chances that they move on from Parkinson.

I think they move on regardless, he's just getting too old unfortunately. The only exception I see is if he shows he still has it and doesn't ask for a crazy amount on his next contract.

I was hoping Davis Allen would have made great progress in his second year but he really didn't move the needle at all. Tight Ends typically take 2 or 3 years to develop so hoping Allen can progress a lot this year. If not, I believe we still have him for another year, cut Parkinson to save cap and draft another blocking TE. Ferguson, Allen, Redmen and a draft pick will round out the TE roster next year?
