I hope Mcvay gives Blake Corum more touches next week. Play this kid more so we can find out if he's good or not. If he isn't... put Hunter in there and give him half the touches. Let's see what the other two got. Now is the time as our O-line are pretty good run blockers.

I like Kyren and, yes, all running backs do fumble.

I think a lot of posters, myself included, have a problem of WHEN he fumbles. It just seems to some that he does it at crucial times. I still think he's our best option at running back we have.

They were swiss cheese within 10 yards. I doubt they would be able to go down the field in 30 seconds throwing 8 yard passes.

They would most likely have to do a hail mary.

Now that I can't say they would or wouldn't be able to complete.

Yeah im being dramatic

Hahaha so if we have an opinion you don't like, go with that classic cop out line. Football people aren't perfect and mistakes too. Some coaches stick with their players and some take touches away so I'm not saying anything unheard of or earth shattering. Thank God I don't take anything you just said too serious :laugh2:
Clearly you think you know more than those who are actually paid to make those decisions but you’re on a fan board like the rest of us. Must be hard for a genius like you to be on the sidelines once again. I’m sure McVay reads all of El Chapo’s posts in amazement of your immense knowledge.

Its opinions, not my fault if people's feelings get hurt over it if I'm simply stating what I believe. Sounds like you don't like what I said. How about discuss it, disagree and move on, or just ignore it. I'm just laughing at how sensitive and triggered some folks are. No shit McVay doesn't listen to ANYONE or ANYTHING on here. Let me guess, this was your attempt to "check" me? GTFOH with that childish shit :laugh1: :laugh2:

We all appreciate Kyren's effort, guts, "good teammate qualities".
Everyone fumbles sometimes, Kyren maybe a little more than most.

What I have always thought/posted is a better/more explosive RB (Gurley, Gibbs, Bijan, Hampton, etc) would make the Ram offense better and the Rams would score more points; win more games; win more Super Bowls.

That's what I want - Super Bowl wins before Stafford hangs 'em up.
A better, more explosive RB than Kyren would help in achieving that goal.

An interesting stat I came across points out what I/some others see (McVay as well - remember his off-season quote about explosiveness)
It's called "Yards Over Expected" and tries to show which RBs get the yards that are blocked for them and which RBs are able to get extra yards "on their own".

Last year, Kyren gained 0 yard above expected - got exactly what the OL blocked for him - 29th in the league.
This year he's gotten 40 yards above expected - 17th in the league.

I know it will "trouble" some, but that tells me there are many RBs who could do what Kyren does IF they played in the Ram's offense and got all the chances/carries/opportunities that Kyren gets.

Imagine the Ram offense with Bijan Robinson, Gibbs, etc at RB.
We don't really have to, we all saw how the Ram offense opened up with the threat of a healthy/explosive Gurley.
It could be that way again.

Great insightful post. Loved Gibbs and was so pissed when the Lions jumped up to grab him. I was hoping he'd be around for McVay to be enticed. If he was in this offense, fuckkkkkk! We'd be cooking for sure. The burst Gibbs has is insane and so damn elite.

Some of us are just also pointing out he has the same amount of fumbles or less through 3 seasons as all of our greats and out pacing thier production through said seasons, and some people dont like the facts back. They want to choose who to accept thats its OK to fumble.

Im sorry but if its ok for Faulk to fumble 15 times in his 3 seasons, Gurley to fumble 10 in 3 seasons or , S-Jax to fumble 10 in 3 seasons, What makes it different that Kyren cant be a great back because of this? I dont get this selective bs. Did they Get benched or limited snaps because of them? Not in the slightest. If anything they increased and kept fumbling for a few years and they learned after awhile.
Faulk dominated. He made DCs stay up at night and the rest woke up in cold sweats. Dickerson dominated. He was our offense, such that it was, and single handedly got some teams deep into the playoffs. Gurley could turn any touch into six.

Stop comparing Williams to fucking greats. He's not a great. He's a good back who has a fucking fumbling problem.

Williams is a good back who could be a great back.

I'm breaking his Strength/Weaknesses into 4 categories:

Naturally gifted traits:
Reaches maximum speed explosively from a dead stop
great lateral agility and vision
elite pass protection
line to gain specialist

Unfixable:
Lacks top end speed required to outrun defenders in the open field

Fixable:
Celebrates before the fucking play is over...

Karma is a bitch:
Lacks ball security during critical drives (See fixable)

In my opinion, the most important thing he needs to correct as a Player, and a Captain, and a man is work on the Fixable category...

"Play through the whistle"
and FINISH.
Not sometimes.
Not most of the time.
EVERY TIME.

I'm rooting for the guy.

Go Rams.

There are probably 20+ fan bases that would love to have KW. Same with a lot of our skill players. The Rams lost to the whiner backup QB, TE, WRs, etc... at HOME.

This is not on KW. This team was unprepared for that game. You don't spot a wounded division rival 14 points and just expect to come back. It was a coaching failure at every level.

Players AND coaches should be ashamed of themselves for their performance Thursday. It's simply not good enough. Good teams just don't do that.... Much less twice in 3 weeks.

Funny thing is that most times when there is a debate, the side that accuses others of "hurt feelings" or "being sensitive or triggered" is one who is actually the one exhibiting that
Alas, its a Rams board so I dont think its ever strange to see Rams fans defending Rams players

We have depth at RB and that’s a damn good thing.

Kyren cares. Give him that. Dude gives 100%… and that’s what we value around here. He’ll work hard on the fumbles.

But, we have depth and let’s be happy the injury bug hasn’t hit the RB group.

SO Funny!! You know what might make sense is The Rams trade Blake Corum to the Chargers.

I know about the depth The Rams have, but since signing Williams & having Hunter as the backup maybe the way to go ??

The Rams would have to get at least a 3rd rd pick for him.Blake Corum the last 2 games has shown he has talent, but also struggles at times as well.He has trouble blocking & can’t catch the ball all that well.

The Rams have Ronnie Rivers on the practice squad. Some might say Heck NO,but my point was J.Hunter was a VALUE PICK & INSURANCE if Kyren was to hold out or cause problems.

Blake played for Harbaugh & his value to the Chargers would be worth more to them than any other NFL TEAM !!

That's actually not a bad idea however what kind of trade comp would be expected in return? Rams spent a 3rd rounder on Corum while Chargers used a 1st on Hampton. Doesnt sound like hes out for the year either
