McVay always does this with rookie HBs. He doesn't trust them to handle the passing game assignments, and he doesn't want to tip the other team to run based on personnel.

Well, that sounds like a coaching problem to me. Or maybe they aren't drafting the smartest players. Because there are plenty of teams that start rookies who have phenomenal years at the HB position. Even the TE position is a headscratcher.

I feel it puts the team in a bind. Every player has bad games, but when you have no one to come in behind them when their day is off you put your team in a bad position. Do I think Hunter Fumbles on the one yard line? I don't, I think that's a Williams special.

Said before they signed him that they should wait it out and have him show them some sustained play without the fumbles. This is because he is a RB when all is said and done. And this is a business.

But the Rams when they love a player tend to pay them. That's the truth of it. And sometimes they get burned like they did with Gurley. In the end though I'd rather have a team paying players too easy than the opposite, which we lived through with Georgia. I just wish they would have waited because if he ends up being replaced as the RB1 then it was a mistake to pay him.

Hunter may be the real deal. Or maybe he's not. All I know is you don't want to pay a RB generally speaking, and if you do you need to do it carefully. Go easy on the cap hits and have escape clause so you can limit the pain if things go south which they quickly can with that position. More injuries, those dudes take a beating and are available in every draft throughout the draft, so it's just not a position you want to pay.

Anyway there is nothing I fucking hate more than losing to SF. And players who choke vs SF piss me off even more than usual. But Kyren's one of those rare players I'll root for to get through the fallout and hope he shows up big time in the next one.

Cam Skatteboo, who I really wanted the Rams to draft, is getting major snaps with the Giants and is balling out. Rookies can play the position. I wish McVay would give them a chance.

Even the TE position is a headscratcher.

This one I understand a little more, and I'm not overly concerned about T-Ferg's current status. TE is a hard position to learn. Davis Allen did very little as a rookie, and did only a slight bit more as a 2nd year player even with Higs out most of the season. Here in year 3 though it looks like he's starting to get it.

That being said, I wish McVay would draw up a few plays here and there where T-Ferg could get some reps without overloading his responsibility, basically to get his feet wet.

I mean, Bowers, Warren and many other TE's start their rookie seasons and have impacts. Yes it might be somewhat of a difficult position to learn or be dependable in, but he's a 2nd round pick not a project.

I won't be surprised to see him getting a significant number of snaps by the end of the season, nor will I be surprised to see him as TE1 next season. But the Rams have 3rd year vet (Allen) for whom the light is coming on and a long time vet (Higs) ahead of him, and even Parkinson knows the O better.

Bowers is a special talent, and Warren was a 1st rounder for a reason. And neither of those teams had good vets ahead of them.

Long term, I think T-Ferg will be fine.

Yea. Last night. I thought I was over KW. But he's too good at what he does and too good a person to cast aside. I think he will work through this. He was devastated on the sideline yesterday and came right back with some big plays.

Its time to give Hunter a few snaps. We need to have him active when we are up big against some team. I want to see what he has while the bullets are flying.
He might be the next big thing. A RB needy team just might take Williams in a trade.
I sure would miss him dropping those big bad mean fellas who are trying to hurt our quarterback like bags of shit.

I was on the fence regarding an extension. I thought they should have waited till after this season. If he proved his worth they could re-sign him before he hits free agency. If the fumbles are too much of a liability they could move on from him. Its not likely any other team would break the bank for him with the fumble issues. I feel like the extension was too early. When he fumbles in a crucial situation it just erases the good he did before that.

Bottom line, is his production enough to offset the occasional fumble that could cost another game? One that could lose a playoff game? Or a game we need to get in the playoffs?

So if you take away his 2 touchdowns and his fumble, do they win the game?

Will we ever be up big on an opponent this year? Last night was IMO the best chance to do that and, well, you saw what happened. Secondly I'd say potentially the 'Aints, but, they have actually played fairly well the last 2 weeks and had a chance to beat the Bill last week.

Hunter needs snaps no matter what stage of the game we are in. The only back on this team that has a chance to take one to the house AND he has potentially the most power. Zero reason why he shouldn't get a few carries.

No. Wasn't a fan of it then and now. You extend elite backs, and he isn't.

The problem too is Corum can't catch a pass. Rams RB room is stuck right now.

So you think rookies coming into the league at RB,TE,WR are going to be as good at blocking as say guys like Kyren,Higbee & Puka?
