Whats the insight on Cooper from LA? I am counting on him this week and next to get my team into the playoffs. I traded Davante for him straight up 2 weeks ago. He is listed as a bust this week but I'm thinking he bounces back despite the tough Browns defense as I don't think we can run on them.
Any word?

(53 mins ago) Kupp was limping around in Week 12 at Arizona after injuring his ankle in Week 11 against Seattle. It seems like he's playing hurt, and his production hasn't been good for a while. He's scored 6.9 PPR points or less in five games in a row, and it's no longer safe to call Kupp a must-start receiver in the majority of leagues. The emergence of Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams has limited Kupp's upside, and this matchup in Week 13 against the Browns won't be easy. Cleveland is No. 2 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers, and Kupp is just a borderline No. 2 Fantasy receiver in the majority of leagues in this matchup.

At some point Cooper is going to get tired of working his way back and then getting hurt again. I really expect him to retire after 2024.

We are seeing the folly of getting rid of Van Jefferson. Had they kept Jefferson they simply could rest Kupp until he was healed. Atwell is strictly a #3 WR type right now. They don't have an adequate replacement for Kupp. When they announced the "trade" of Jefferson I really didn't understand it with Kupp's injury history.

IMO it's time to rest Kupp and give him time to heal. McVay must design a new offense based around 12 personnell with Nacua at X and Atwell at Y. With Williams and Higbee playing a bigger role in the passing attack. William's performance these last two games now forces teams to gameplan to stop him. Roll out 12 personnel and here comes the off tackle run attack. Play action will likely free up one of the TEs in the pass game. It will give both Atwell and Nacua the ability to get into the intermediate zone where they both can do some damage with chunk yardage.

Don't forget Kyren's best run looked to be off tackle. Jackson is a better run blocker than pass blocker so running off tackle with Jackson and Avila on the left and Long and Dotson on the right makes it so the defense can't simply favor one side. That then opens up the between the tackle runs as well. Align Higbee on the left side where he can release on play action as a Y receiver.

If McVay schemes the plays properly this offense won't miss a beat. They will run the ball well and still threaten the secondary with quality WRs on the outside in Puka and Tutu.

I say rest Kupp this week because they will really need him against the Ravens. Cleveland's strength is in their defense. They are strong against both run and pass. But IMO they have played a mediocre schedule. They are good enough to beat the Rams if the Rams get sloppy and play a poor game, i.e. turnovers and penalties. But I see it as a winnable game.

The Rams will be in a shootout to stay in the game in Baltimore. IMO the Ravens have a better defense than the Niners in that it's well balanced and they play their aggressive 3-4 hybrid scheme the way it should be played. I can see the Ram defense get overwhelmed especially if they play soft. If Morris comes out with his soft zone the Rams have no chance in hell against the Ravens. Morris can not play to limit them to FGs because their offense is too good to settle for a bunch of FGs.

The Rams will have to play their most complete game of the year to win in Baltimore. Also, the weather will probably be shit as well which doesn't bode well for Stafford's thumb. He struggles to grip the ball normally, if the weather is bad McVay should consider sitting Stafford simply because of the fumble and INT potential with his inaccurate passes could cost them the game.

If the Rams can beat the Ravens I think they roll up the rest of the schedule, including the Niners. McVay needs to limit the Raven's possessions and play ball control with his run game and possession passing attack. In other words Sean needs to be smart about his game planning the Ravens.

I think we could beat Cleveland with Puka, Tutu, Robinson, Higby and Kyren out of the backfield if we want to rest Kupp. Or maybe he justed needed that extra week and this week he's back to normal.
Whatever the case I think we have a legit shot potentially making the playoffs to win in the playoffs if we are lucky enough to get in we need a full throttle Kupp.

Its just weird how that 30 year age seems to be the threshold where players get hurt more often and can't seem to get back into their old rhythm. Even when Kupp had double digit receptions and 100 plus yards his first two games back, he didn't look quite like himself. Stafford targeted him a lot so he got some numbers the first two games.

After 15 catches and 266 yards the first two games he's got 12 catches for 127 yards his last 5 games. And zero TD's. He's got one TD for the season. If he's that hobbled I think its best to sit him a few games. It would also force Stafford to spread it around more. Maybe Kupp returns in a few weeks and is 100 percent for any playoff push.

I don't agree that Kupp will retire in 2024. I think his lower production just increases the Rams ability to keep him as he returns to form. Other teams will not be willing to offer him that big contract when he becomes a free agent.

Sometimes if you "rest" too much its very hard to get back to form you were beforehand.( Ive had this after a work injury myself) Kupp has been out most of the last year now. He will not be up to form, and him sitting 100% might be worse for him. His mental and body are not on the same page. Maybe a snap count is best for him if hes getting tired out by the 3rd quarter!

Jefferson had 8 receptions in 5 games with the Rams before the trade.

Since then, Jefferson has 6 receptions in 6 games with Atlanta.

I like Van Jefferson but he has been a complete non-factor in 2023.

He has always been a guy who misses time. Only way they cut him is if they think he is done. Let's see how he looks on the field the rest of the way.

This is why returning too quickly can hurt you. Players get graded on their tape. I'm worried I admit but this is Cooper MFing Kupp.
