Wow. Thanks for posting that. I honestly suspected it might've been gibberish to mess with the reporter.

Kupp used the Pro Football technical terms but the play was really very simple.

Allow me to explain.

Kupp was the Bottle-Cap. The blitzing-CB was the Twig. The safety (i.e., the Small Rock) was in coverage.
The Bottle-Cap beat the Rock on an inside slant ... called the Slanter-Rooskie ... and the Potato-Chip connected with the Bottle-Cap for the TD. Stafford was, of course, the Potato-Chip ... DUH!

Nah the internet would have called him out if it was gibberish. You can't make something up that fast (well, I can't at least)

when you hear Kupp.. you start to understand just how complicated the NFL is and why it’s not as simple as throwing a guy like OBJ in and telling him to just run a few routes.. all those options on one play!

still looks like man to me when i watch it... maybe a match up zone - the LB takes off across the field to cover the RB

but ill take their expert words on it :p

researching its mostly used as a match up zone.
Do you think it's a Cover 1 blitz, with a deep middle safety and a short middle safety (the guy Kupp beat)?

I can actually picture this on the dirt field we played on as kids. Of course, there was a squiggly line and the play was limited to the twig and bottle cap.

Great vid, love the interview. He's a coach on the field, like he was as a rookie.

We played on the street. No bottle caps or twigs. End zones were at the light poles. I skipped homework for a career of street ball and no regrets. (I just hid the grades!)

In NYC, we often played in the streets; and the the play-calls were less about the kids playing, and more about the surroundings. So, the call was more like ... "Steve - do a slant to the Buick. Scott - do an out at the man-hole. Louie - you do a deep-in to the dead rat.
