I agree. I will say that his hands and route running are legit. Some will call it hype. IMO he's struggling mentally right now. I'd like to believe that it didn't start with the game winning drop vs Seattle.Rookie or no, given all the hype about his suction cup hands it's somewhat surprising to see him have so many drops.
Bingo. Perfectly said.Rookie or no, given all the hype about his suction cup hands it's somewhat surprising to see him have so many drops.

Almost. But he's about league average in terms of catch%The frustrating thing is he has the worst hands on the team this year of the WRs....guessing but I am sure.
That is not drop rate which is a different stat.
I watched the fumble play again in slow mo
Kupp barely makes the catch with his fingertips .. as he tucks it into the crook of his arm and it gets hit almost instantly
That’s a great play by the defender ..
Kupp double clutched the catch. I don't know if it hit his shoulder or hands first but he didn't catch it clean. You can see he is not looking it in but at the defender to his left. Looks like he wanted to catch it and keep going but, in highsight making and securing then ball should be his priority. ISo he makes the catch but, is a little late getting it tucked in his right arm. I good idea would have been to keep it in the middle of his body with both arms around it. He is the middle of the field where he can get hit from either side. t is the first time he double catches the ball. He did on the same play at almost the same spot once before. He is not catching everything cleanly which I thought was his forte.
The missed pass and the Hags TD miss were bullets from Goff. The Hag catch was a hard one to make. He was late on this week's pass. You can see his hands closed late. I hope that is just getting used to the speed of Goff's passes. Kupp doesn't have the athletic ability of other WR with IIRC only a 31 inch vertical. I know he is a rookie but, I have to wonder if he can correct these mistakes.
He does the most important thing and that’s get open ... he is still a rookie he is still learning the speed of the big boy game ... in college for him that same play goes for a TD ... he will learn ... this isn’t brian quick we are talking about the guy is a “coach on the field “
Spends more time lining up Watkins than anything else
Arguably the greatest slot guy to ever play the game was just returner / jag until his 4th or 5th season
I hope that is just getting used to the speed of Goff's passes.
