This is just a feel good post to accept the departure of Kupp while being excited for the future.

As a Rams fan of nearly 40 years, I have had the opportunity to witness greatness at the WR position from Willie “Flipper” Anderson/Henry Ellard, to Isaac “The Reverend” Bruce/Tory “Big Game” Holt, to Cooper Kupp/Robert “Bobby Trees” Woods and now Cooper Kupp/Puka Nacua.

One of my favorite things as youngster was yelling Bruuuuuuuuce! at the game when he caught a pass. I love how that the tradition passed onto Kupp.

With the departure of Kupp (sad but will always be a Ram to me), I think that in the tradition of Bruuuuuuce! and Coooooooop!, fans should pass the torch and yell Puuuuuuuuu! (I know it sounds like pooo) or Nacuuuuuuuuu! at games for Nacua.

Thoughts?

Horns Up!!

I'm sure some fans already shout "Puuuuuuuuuk" when he makes a catch.

Let's hope we can get another top receiver, either in the draft or free agency, to form the next great Rams receiver duo.

I considered that ...

Per OTC, the Rams are projected to have more than $90M of cap space in 2026.
If they move-on from Jonah Jackson, Darious Williams and Colby Parkinson, that baloons to $120M.

If they keep Kupp for 2025; and then release him in the 2026 off-season (just one extra year) the cap implications are $7.5M of Dead-$ and $20M of cap relief. That's pretty much the reverse of releasing him now.

So in 2026, should the Rams release Kupp, Jackson, Williams and Parkinson ... their cap space would be $140M.
I think that would be enough.
You have convinced me. It clearly makes more sense to keep Kupp this year, if they are unable to trade him and his contract this year.

Releasing him in 2026 is the better option.

I'd be fine with letting Kupp try one more time to regain the magic. If nothing else, he's still a viable WR2/WR3 who is also one of the best run blocking receivers in the league.

After a good long successful run I too tried to trade my previous wife. Found zero takers, ended up releasing her and was stuck in salary cap hell for 5 years. If only I could have somebody to trade with I could have avoided years of rebuilding. Funny thing is we still talk 18 years after splitting, although there is zero chance of a reunion ever happening. Oh shit, we were talking football, sorry.

I went to speak with Snead ... Les threatened me with a can of mace.

I then approached McVay ... Sean said something about a restraining-order.

The Rams told Kupp what they would do, I would be surprised if it does not happen.

I tried man.

So you're saying you prefer a post June 1 cut....
Kidding
I say convert the 12.5 mill salary to a bonus, reducing this year cap hit by 6 mill while increasing next year's dead cap hit by same

Well - you think The Rams are that dumb, that they don’t think of the future??? Who’s to say what team Mattew Stafford will go into The HOF with ? There’s no guarantee if he leaves he wouldn’t go in as a Ram or visa-versa ? Then again The Rams have had a lot more QB’s & traded for more & less.

My guess is he will go in as a Lion no matter what ? Then again I think both sides are done with each other & The Rams have at least a 50-1 better chance of winning another Superbowl if not better??

The Rams will eventually go way younger as well.I’d say if you haven’t,why wouldn’t you sign a free agent.LA is an easy place to market & where The Rams call home again. If your lucky enough you could find yourself in the luxury boxes, unless a total has been with no desire to better ones self. - instead of a Super Bowl party like The Rams will strive for, just have a petty party and count your losses .

As with Mattew Stafford it’s Time 2 Move ON - ask The Rams about Kupp & that 8 year marriage?? He’s the one who let thing out of the HOUSE (whose house) & WE all know it’s about The RAMS !!

Go ask EJ53 what happens??? It’s not about The $$$ always. Kelly Stafford has crossed the line 3 times already,& IMO that will be The End of #9 as The Rams know it

Spoken like a person who has received more than a few restraining orders in his life!

A truly committed fan is all-in.

It wasn't all negative. Went to visit the Kupps, to thank Cooper.
They sicked their dogs on me but said 'God Bless You Heathen'

Real easy to be a comedian,SO funny (lol).

This should give clarity on what’s going on & Kupp’s situation.Freaking good info though.

IMO - because this actually means something to me .Kupp in Mcvays words is a Freaking STUD!! - What Kupp has meant to US (Rod) Rams Fans has been everything. His SuperBowl season ? All those HOF players & Kupp’s MVP .

I’d say Kronke EATS that chump change 7.5 million & The Rams clear $12.5 on the books.Plus NOW they can get good Comp for a Trade with Tariiff’s .

For Kupp he wants to be a HOF WR!!! He wants to show The NFL(world) how good he is.He still in his heart (like us Old Guys) ,thinks he can still be a Number 1 WR!!

Think how he trained Puka last season & how hard he worked him.Kupp is already in training mode.

IMO - he would be perfect in DC Then again KC ?? The Rams Old state. The SHOW(on turf) ME State !! You know Kupp isn’t about WE anymore when they get RID of U !!
