2 missed field goals and 1 missed PAT = 7 points. I understand your point about the 2 point conversion though and the defense not stopping that joke of an offense. The problem is both missed FG put the squealers in great field position. I have been watching football for 35 years and if there is one thing that remains true is that missed field goals in tight games are momentum killers and inspiration for the other team.It ain't easy to find an upgrade replacement this time of year. Even a kicker. Maher is not a good field goal kicker. But even if he makes all 3 kicks we still lose 24-23. They wouldn't be going for two if he makes the first PAT. Which would still leave them at 17 points.
So its not like he left 7 points off the board. We were still going to lose because the defense couldn't prevent a weak offense from scoring with ease. And the offense couldn't limit the mistakes that killed drives. I have a feeling this is going to be a common theme this season.
But there are more problems here than just missed FGs and PATs.
#1. Coming out in shotgun on the first play of the 2nd half was a TERRIBLE play call especially when they had success running the ball in the first half.
#2. Stafford’s decision to throw that ball straight to Watt was terrible.
#3. The Rams don’t have any home games. They are the away team in every game and it sucks.
I have been a displaced Rams fan since 85 and would LOVE to live in the same city and be a season ticket holder. I live in Tennessee and drove up to St. Louis 2, sometimes 3 times a year to watch them even in the bad years.
