Jackson and Dickerson had coaches who could not offensively coach their way out of paper bags. Gurly's career did not last long enough.
All great players, NFL leading rusher types. teams were scared to death of them.
Plenty of shitty players have rings.
Just thinking about what McVay could do with a player like Steven Jackson, who was drafted at the bottom of the 1st, we are talking potential MVP at RB now.
And our coach needs to get back to another Rams tradition. Multiple high picks on the offensive line.
39 would be going to the Hall of Fame if it played on a better team. So, I would imagine that about 31 other teams in the NFL would like him. The same goes for Gurley and obviously Dickerson,

But it's incredibly hard getting running backs that are that good. Otherwise, every team would have one.

And our tradition of running the ball hard was also a tradition of not winning Super Bowls.

I much prefer going to the playoffs most years. than trying to hang on to a tradition that often meant we missed out.

Nope.
You TOTALY missed out on what I was trying to say.
You can have both, with the right quarterback and coach to go with the great defense, O line and running back.
McSnead not paying attention to the O line with high picks is kinda a problem.
Derrick Henry was a 2nd round pick. You do not have to pay a huge price to get a running back like that, proven.

And you did with me.

Every team passed on Derrick Henry, but you're making out that you can just pick up an All Pro in the second round.

I'd love the Rams to get a player like that but I don't see running back as a deficiency in this team at the moment.

At the end of the day, it's about winning, not tradition.

Again, the Rams have a number of problems to deal with, but running back ain’t one of them. They’re getting yards they can score from the goal line.

Comprehension issue ?
You are trying to make a point that does not exist. "tradition" vs "winning" does not play into it.
I am getting tired of smallish running backs and not exactly fast ones either. Getting tired of no high draft picks on our O line.
Football 101. The O line is the most important unit on any football team. A great one makes every single player on offense much better.
Also helps out the defense, keeps them rested.
I have high hopes for Hunter, he is a Ram and I will root for him. But he was described as "limited due to his size" coming out.
He might be a nice back, but a share the load guy. Having a back that defenses really, really don't like to tackle, making "business decisions" is a great quality in my book.
Waiting for that guy. And no one is saying you can just pick up a All Pro RB in the 2nd round easy as pie. I am saying, it can be done. Lets go get one.
Dominating O line and running game combined with a deep passing game is my kind of offense. I think its McVay's too.

Hey. There’s no judging here.
