I hope the Eagles sign him for $8M per year and think they got a bargain. Gonna enjoy that BS just like any team signing Cook to a big deal. Both are buyer beware IMO.

Not so sure it's wise to count Spruce out. Or more accurately, this is a bad time to do so. He's a smart player, a precise route runner, and has a history of high production. And the new regime will require those things. I doubt he has a 1k yard season this year but he might move from fan fantasy to productive reality this season.
He has to prove it against NFL competition for more than 1 quarter in a preseason game and then actually play the next week before I give him any credit. He's on the roster and he will get a chance to prove himself but he hasn't done anything yet.

Could that be because he was injured all last year? And/or possibly because Fisher left him on the IR list all of last year?

Injuries mean you're not on the field, not producing, not helping the team. Nothing

Right... understandable. But he has to get the chance to prove it first. People discrediting players because they got injured isn't very fair. Everyone gets injured.

I'm not discrediting him, he never earned any credit in the first place.

Watching old clips of Tavon in his college days... If McVay has a brilliant offensive mind that everyone says he does... Tavon is gonna be a huge factor next year, with defenses keying on multiple players instead of an obvious one.

I feel this way as well.

I've been watching a lot of Redskins film lately mostly focusing on the offense. I'd love game recommends if anyone has one they recommend watching. Anyway, McVay loves to stack his receivers in the slot, leaving guys to often come clean off the line. His play calling is very conscience of which side of the field is the short side.

Once again please recommend any Redskin games I should replay that showcase McVay - last two years I guess.

Britt's a beast. If we don't re-sign him, I hope we draft someone just like him.....and definitely on day 3.

Wish the best for him. Somebody might afford to pay him what he wants. But the Rams can't.

It depends on which WR we bring in during FA for me. IF we upgrade on Britt, then I'm happy and would like to draft a WR with our #2 pick. But if we don't pick up a FA WR then please keep hold of him. If he's close to Groh and 'clicks' with him, then it makes sense to cut ties - for both parties.

So the Rams entire offense has been crap, horrible passing game....

Put Kenny Britt with Kirk Cousins or Aaron Rodgers or any other QB who can consistently hit deep targets and he would be catching passes in the Pro Bowl.
Or with Brady or Roethlisberger or.... any other team with a good QB.

Britt has improved every year. I dont think he quits now.
Do I brank the bank to keep him here? No. Not at all. But I would love to keep him if the deal was doable.

Eagles are connected to literally every wideout with a pulse who hits free agency or is supposedly available in trade. Anything to get Nelson Agholor off the field, I guess.

ESPN's Tim McManus reports the Eagles are interested in free agent Kenny Britt.

McManus' report is via "league sources." Per McManus, Britt is "tight" with new Eagles WRs coach Mike Groh, who had the same position in Los Angeles last season. The Eagles are absolutely desperate for receiver help, and Britt won't command a top-tier salary. He would be a smart addition.

I forget how it works, But IF Britt signs with the Eagles and does well, do the Rams get a Comp pick in 2018!?!

I'm a lil shakey on this too Dave....but for you and I...I'll guess ABSOLUTELY!!!! and based on performance %%% or some strange formula they'll find out if he's a 3rd, 4th or 5th round compensation due...

It depends on whether or not the Rams sign any big-time free agents to similar deals and who have similar success. If, for example, they sign Garcon to a similar deal to what Britt gets, and both have something in the region of a 1000 yard season, they basically cancel each other out comp-pick-wise. It's why a lot of continually successful teams strategically don't sign big free agents - see how the Packers operate - because they put more value on getting 3rd-4th round comp picks and developing their players internally.

I think it's based on how much he gets paid, no?
I was thinking it was based more on his Playing time and production. IDK!

I haven't a Clue weather they would cancel each other out or not. We'll see!

If they're paid similarly and perform similarly, they would. Comp picks are designed to be given to teams that lose more than they gain in free agency, based on $$ of contracts, on-field success and postseason impact. If you sign the same levels of free agents as you lose, you don't get comp picks. So teams should either sign the everloving crap out of everyone (because you don't lose a pick, you just don't get a comp), or should spend their time developing players internally, let some walk in free agency, and don't sign high-profile UFAs.
