YAWN Who cares what some talking head thinks? He's a homer and tries to inflate his "boy". LOL Then the dude starts talking about Super Bowls......duhhh his boy was on the bench during theirs.

Ceiling means nothing if a player can't stay healthy. Wentz was healthy only during his rookie year. Then he's missed 8 regular-season games, not counting the playoffs and Super Bowl. Carson has a ring but he didn't play in the game...WOW funny how he forgets about that.

He then destroys his own argument talking about how Pederson is a far better coach. Which then leads to that means Goff is being handicapped by having McVay, a lesser coach. But if Goff isn't as good and he's playing for a lesser coach, why is he putting up basically the same numbers as Wentz with a lesser team and coach around him? So logically if Goff were in Philly he would be playing better with a better team and coach so geee I guess he would be outperforming Wendtz all things being equal. By his own argument, Goff is matching Wendtz in most areas with less.

The dude is a hack who can't write. Goff will probably reach his potential because he stays healthy. Wentz may not reach this high ceiling he's supposed to have if he can't stay healthy. This is a huge season for Wentz. If he goes down again he's going to earn the tag "injury-prone".

Yeah, I will freely admit that with Fisher as the HC I wanted Wentz - since a Wentz type player was more likely to produce under the kindergarten offenses Fisher was in love with. But since Fisher was replaced, Goff has been the man. I expect Wentz to have a relatively short career for such a talented player - hopefully he'll retire before he becomes a crippled shell of his youth.

But comparing the two - you can't really count the Eagles' Super Bowl run, since Wentz didn't actually play during it, but instead a second or lower tier QB led the team to the championship - which weakens the respect for Wentz's regular season record. Meanwhile, Goff led his team to a NFC championship, playing every game and having a great statistical record. The criticism of him is mainly for the Patriots shutting him down - but he got to face the Patriots at least and was within striking distance in the 4th quarter.

If dude throws flag on that DPI against Cooks, Goff wins the SB.

Goff is a better leader, has a better arm, and from my biased opinion, a better all around player. I wanted Wentz as my 1a, but Goff was a very close 1b. Glad we got Goff.

Here we go again, not sure if Goff is a better leader or has a better arm, however, durability is a major asset and working on getting better each year has to be factored in...Until Goff wins a Super Bowl, there will be an east coast bias for Wentz, but that won't last much longer.

Here's the irony, I used to be worried about the comparrisons, however, I no longer worry, Rams got the pick right even if Wentz can play 16 games, but many Eagle fans were actually rooting for the Evil Empire because they did not want Goff to win a Super Bowl...So screw them!

Does either Goff or Wentz have to be better than the other one?

It makes for debates. This one didn't give either player a noticeable advantage. Max even lost the debate on his comparison players Rivers over Big Ben. Max uses the Wentz advantages of being bigger, stronger, with a stronger arm and more mobile argument without noting Goff's advantages. Goff has better mechanics, footwork, accuracy including the deep pass. He states Wentz didn't know how to lead while Goff has taken the leadership role from year two. While Wentz is more physical it's hard to ignore his injury history. In the end, if you had to chose you take the one that can stay on the field. That's Jared Goff.

Goff is a better leader based on past problems Wentz has had, and by Wentz own admission, on his deficiency in that area. Goff’s arm tested better at the combine, and looks better live to me. Here we go again....
