Johnnie Johnson in a great group of DB's with Cromwell, Thomas, Leroy, Perry, Dryer
and we can't forget Todd Lyght and Toby Wright years later
and some love for one of my favorites as a kid Carl Ekern (RIP)

Something fun, memories of another recently departed

Era's do matter though and man have people gotten bigger.

Bill Russell was 200 or so pounds, in today's NBA he'd get pushed around by some guards, every forward for sure, and would have NO chance against a backup center.

NO question. Heck, I suspect Rothlisberger & Newton are as big as a lot of OL were in Van Brocklin's Day.

If I'm not mistaken, Dan Dierdorf played most of his career in the 280lb range, and the center on that Cardiac Cards line was Tom Banks who I believe was somewhere in the 265lb range. And if I'm not mistaken, Bob Young, the Cards' guard opposite Dobler was one of the earlier 'gym rats' to spend a lot of time lifting weights.
