Trading down for picks this year, plus a 2nd and 3rd next year is overly optimistic in my opinion. But if it did happen I gotta wonder. Would they consider packaging those picks with a couple of theirs to move up and draft their next franchise quarterback? One who could sit behind Stafford for a year and step in year two?

I get the love for drafting a QB to learn behind Stafford. But I just don't see the talent in the QB position this year. I'd much rather draft an immediate starter (TE/CB/LB) in the first round. This team is close to winning again - take the shot.

Now, if Milroe slides into the middle of the second round and they want to trade up for him, sure, or if they trade down and get more draft capital, to pick him up with their first pick that is now in the second, then fine. But not in the first round.

I dont see where next year crop of QB is any better than this year. Carson Beck? Klubnik? Nussmeir? No thanks....

Chris Paul finally gets to play with Kobe in LA

I think I have a lower opinion of the CB room than most - draft more than 1 CB please.

No need to go like an old STL Rams scout in Indy:

LMAO.

Fuck you, David Stern...

That shit STILL pisses me off nearly 15 years later.

Potentially Manning (although people think he will go back, myself included), Sellers, Iamaleava, Allar. I like Sellers myself, but, if he develops, he's likely #1

Manning either goes 1st, or doesnt go in the draft. Nico is head case and screwed himself, Allar is garbage. Sellers? We'll see about that. Word is Cutter Woods killed it in the spring game and Sellers better not slip up

Yes, I'm of the opinion he will stay at Texas in which case I feel like Sellers has a real shot at #1. I agree, Allar needs to show a lot, but has the tools. Nico is puzzling, certainly has the skills but may not have the brain. That said, who would you take above these guys this year? Ward only?

Imagine if Jayden Daniel's had come out the year before, 5th round prospect.

Judging next years class now before they've even played a down when a QB has a year to grow is absurd.

Long is a very good blocker, but he’s a poor receiver. That’s why they wanted him in the Ramsey trade despite his injuty woes.

Fidone hasn’t blocked a down in the NFL.
Really, would love to see that on tape. I haven't. Maybe I missed it.

I stand by my statement that Fidone is the Michael Jordan of blocking compared to Long.

Definitely don’t want to wait that long for a TE in this draft. There is more talent at the top in this draft than we’ve seen in a long time and I feel like this draft just gives us a leftover.
It wasn’t that long ago when the draft was deep with TE talent and the Rams waited.

The draft is deep with TEs again. Grab someone early and quit fucking around.

Disagree. Long is a solid receiver. It was even what he did best coming out of college.

Well I disagree. McVay praised Long’s blocking.

Fidone could be a total bust for all we know. Blocking in college and blocking in the NFL aren’t equal. Aside from that, if the only tight end the Rams get from this draft is a blocking tight end, that’s a loss.

It didn’t show up much last year. It was reported after he was acquired that they liked his blocking. It’s been reported a few times since then.

But I don’t care. I’m not getting into this BS again. He’s a great pass catcher, I guess.

Don't know anything about Fidone, but I saw Long play and I'd guess just about every pre-draft scouting report you'll find will tell you about his receiving. Even put on a show during the Senior Bowl.

So then how can people assume it’s better than this year?
Allar, Klubnik, Beck and nussmeir all have started several seasons. I don’t see any of them improving their draft status

Okay. And everything that is said pre draft always ends up being true?
No. Depends upon the source. But the kid was more of a receiving TE in college, had a strong senior season, and Senior Bowl. Thanks to injuries and circumstances things just haven't worked out for him. McVay commenting on his blocking doesn't mean he's a poor receiver.

I'd watch the kid's highlights (I have not watched any games), kid looks like a great receiver that wasn't asked to run a full tree in Lincoln.
