The sad part is... He is apparently too stupid to do anything substantial outside of football either. You can teach a 5 year old not to make the same mistake this many times.

Hi, welcome to the NFL. You're probably going to be in pain a lot--but don't worry, addictive prescription narcotics are ok, our doctors will prescribe them for you.

Don't smoke marijuana though, that's a no no.

Yeah, that suspension has really taken its toll on his body these past couple years.

News is NFL is willing to give Gordon a chance to stay clean, they say thy will see if he can stay clean for a few months before making a decision. WTF is this league doing??? either the guy is re-instated and can play or he's suspended for another year, possibly forever. WHAT A WASTED TALENT, but I would still take him for our team lol

Last timeI looked, playing in the NFL is a privilege. Prescription Meds are legal, and pot is not in most states. But put the legality aside for a moment...If I told you that I would pay you $16 million a year to play hopscotch, but you could not drive a car without a license or else you would be suspended from the hopscotch league. Do it more than once, you lose your capacity to earn $16 million per year and you are qualified to do nothing else.So now what is your priority for you and your family? Is it to fight the rule and risk forfeiting the privilege to play hopscotch? Or will you"
1. Use your drivers license when driving
2. Pay someone to drive you?
3. Fukking walk and make $16 million a year?

You and I will never have the chance to make millions for playing a game we all love....He can smoke all the pot now that he wants....No rules for the unemployed

Don't disagree with you, nor was I defending his supremely dumb actions. I WAS pointing out how crazy what is allowed vs what is not allowed.
Ever known someone whose life gets ruined by an addiction to pain pills? I have, it's ugly.

I smoked my last three years of college. I'd go home each summer and didn't touch it. After I graduated I smoked once in Texas on a trip to San Antonio. I don't understand what is so hard about not smoking pot. Whenever I see guys can't stop, my guess is that they abuse many different substances. Pot is just a side drug. A lot of other stuff can be much more hit or miss with a drug test. Pot can be detected for months. Narcotics can be gone in a few hours.

In a piss test it can't be detected after about 30 days.

Report: Josh Gordon failed another drug test

Suspended Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon failed another league-administered drug test last month, Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reported Monday.

Citing a source with knowledge of test results, the report said a sample collected from Gordon in early March tested positive for marijuana and dilute.

Gordon applied for reinstatement in February. He was suspended for at least a year in early 2015 after testing positive for alcohol, a violation of rules set forth by the NFL stemming from a previous suspension.

Garafolo’s report said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has yet to rule on Gordon’s request for reinstatement, which Gordon made in February. Though another failed test doesn’t necessarily mean Goodell will deny Gordon’s request, it certainly can’t help his case. This news also might explain why the NFL has not announced a decision on Gordon’s quest for reinstatement.

Gordon’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, declined comment to Garafolo.

Earlier Monday, ESPN reported that Gordon has been living in Los Angeles with former teammate and noted maker of solid decisions Johnny Manziel.

Gordon led the NFL with 1,646 receiving yards in 2013 despite missing the season’s first two games due to an NFL suspension. He served a 10-game suspension to start 2014 and caught 24 passes for 303 yards in five games; he was suspended by the Browns for the season finale for a violation of team rules.

Wow Josh...real smart.....ass clown.....

In a pee pee test it can't be detected after about 30 days.
That depends of an few factors but it can be detected 90 days down the road with urine tests. Hair tests have been reported to tell a history up to six months. It really has to do more with the frequency of which you partake of the magical weed. Someone who stays stoned all the time will test much longer out from the event than a casual bong hit or joint taken a couple times a week.

freak up: one who fucks up over and over.

I'll concur with that. I just don't like to kick a guy when he's down...

Rules are rules. And they don't have to be freaking fair.

You don't want him on this team. Per current rules he can't play.

Josh Gordon had one of the best single seasons in nfl history. He'll go down as a guy who couldn't play ball because he didn't play ball. I hear this story and I want society to change. I don't believe you feel the same Jerry.

I want society to change...but I also have no sympathy for Josh Gordon. Gordon got booted off two teams in college. He's been suspended repeatedly in the NFL. At some point, it becomes obvious that he doesn't care.

And I disagree that he had one of the best single seasons in NFL history. But that debate probably isn't relevant to this discussion.

Yeah that's true. And I had heard hair testing can detect usage even longer than 6 months but I don't know if that's true.

@jrry32 I have no sympathy for Gordon either and I'm so over the "he's an addict". Weed isn't addictive he's just to stupid and weak minded to stop or care. So fuck him.

As a libertarian, I respect the NFL's right to test....but I don't think they should. Especially when it comes to harmless drugs like marijuana.

The league seems to be treating the issue with the same approach as the government...as a legal issue rather than a health issue. If someone is dependent on drugs, suspending them will accomplish absolutely nothing. Taking away their livelihood just gives them another reason to continue their drug use. IMO it shouldn't be an issue the commish handles. It should be between the player, the team doctor and mental health specialists.

But that's just my progressive hippie view. Don't mind me.

Edit: Additionally, anyone who calls the guy a "dumbass" when he has a serious mental health issue, probably doesn't remotely understand his condition and what he's going through.
