Under Les Snead's watch, we are pretty much elite at drafting or signing UDFA's S. This is the one position we don't need to lose sleep over. Now JJ3 is awesome on & off the field but it would be a waste of money.
Much rather spend on interior OL to help Goff.
Not sure we can keep Floyd, I think we need to draft his replacement, or reconstruct AD contract a little.

Unfortunately it’s the correct & obvious move cap/roster wise for the Rams to let JJ go in FA.

We have replacements for JJ so we can let him go. We don’t have replacements for Floyd, so to me he’s the one that’s going to hurt the most to let go.

Johnson's one of my favorite players but we can't pay everyone. We need to load quite a few positions with young drafted talent if we're going to win in 2021.

Not gonna lie though I am concerned with safety. But Morris is going to make those calls I would guess.

It’s hard to quantify the value of a safety from a fan perspective. Unless you watch the all-22 there could be countless plays that a safety kills based on positioning alone.

Maybe some of you remember Joyner and the constant big plays we gave up. It was a huge hole in our defense. It’s for that reason and JJ’s excellent technique that shows up every week that I am hoping we find a way to keep him over Floyd. Which is saying a lot considering Floyd’s impact.

Tough call if it's either JJ or Floyd, but I would lean toward keeping Floyd because he appears to be harder to replace. But the choice may be made for us by the players or the market. And we could lose both of them, though hopefully not if we can come up with the market value bucks to pay at least one.

I would much rather retain JJ than LF. Great safeties are less common than good edge players that can benefit from the AD effect...also are less expensive.

Get it done, Les!

.

jj was gone the moment the rams drafted burgess and fuller. and especially after fuller hit the ground running.

the rams were lucky he balled out instead sulking like a bitch the way joyner did the whole season on the franchise tag.

It's going to be a tough decision on both JJ3 and Floyd. He's been energy and a baller since he got here.

The thing to me that gives Reynolds the edge is that we're better suited to lose JJ3 with the depth behind than we are Floyd.

And yes, I get that Floyds success was also due to Donald. But feel like Floyd was a bigger reason for our success this year.
It maybe true Floyd's success is due to AD but the difference from him and Fowler is his run stop ability. He really excelled at that. I think he is more valuable to the team if we lost him over Jj3 but make no mistake I love JJ3.

Shit decisions coming these off-seasons.

I think Johnson stays now that Raheem Morris is in. I think Johnson offers more value to his defense then Floyd would

Unless the cap is a lot higher than projected, I can’t see the Rams being able to resign either Johnson or Floyd.

Hope I am wrong.

This may have some merit. However, seeing JJ3 Instagram post the other day, I doubt he remains.

Jj/floyd will probably go to the chargers. They might even sign dwill and gives the rams a 1st round pick. But I doubt the latter happens.

I'd be so pissed if they both followed.
