By the time Cullen Bryant was converted to RB from DB, Larry Smith had gone to Washington to reunite with George Allen.
In 1974, the LA RAMS had on their active regular season roster Lawrence McCutcheon (NFC rushing champion), Jim Bertelsen, Tony Baker, Les Josephson, Rob Scribner, converted safety Cullen Bryant and rookie Heisman Trophy winner John Cappelletti.

Wow I didn't think this game existed. Just popped up on youtube. Excited to finally see it! 
John Hadl had led the Rams to the playoffs but unfortunately couldn't get them past a very beatable Cowboys team. Hadl looks like he hurt is back later in the game the way he's clutching it. He was not the same afterwards as he was in his MVP season.

He originally suffered the back injury against the Packers during that regular season. Must have been aggravated during this game.

69-70s postseasons were always brutal.
Do you remember how he suffered it against the Packers because I remember reading that too? In fact, in 1974 during a practice Carroll Rosenbloom asked Hadl what was wrong with his arm because his passes wobbled and Hadl responded by informing Rosenbloom it wasn't his arm, it was his back. A week later Hadl was traded to the packers and Hadl later said, maybe they felt the back wasn't fixable and he was too honest.
Mostly, Yes. This 1973 Divisional Round loss in Dallas was really tough. The '74 and '76 NFCCG losses in MN were absolutely brutal. All because they were incredibly close and the Rams Could-A / Should-A won them.
The 1975 and 1978 home NFCCG defeats to the Cowboys were tremendously disappointing because the Rams played like shit.
The '77 loss was explainable ... some Vikings' fans sold their worthless Souls to the Devil.
However, the 1976 and 1979 wins in Dallas were Fantastic and Great Memories. Dallas' fans Would / Should feel the same way about those losses as Rams' fans felt about this 1973 game.
I would feel a little sorry for them (Cowboys' fans) but they are mostly ass-holes.
Didn't see the game (living in Georgia, that game was not on in this market). And even though I subscribed to Pro Football Weekly at the time, don't remember seeing anything in that newspaper about it. Actually, came across that nugget long after Hadl had retired during the internet age. Would only presume it occurred as a result of being tackled by a Packer but don't know for sure.
