Staley will realize very quickly that the Chargers fall into that "just make money" category. They will never spend big bucks on enough players to get them over the top. He won't have the FO support he had with the Rams. The Yorks in SF are much the same way. Spend enough to be competitive to maintain their market but thats all.

Two LA teams that couldn't be more different. IMO that is what Rome was alluding to without naming names.

I can't remember which of the talking heads shows I was listening to, but they quoted a GM who told him during the draft that a surprisingly low number of teams are actually committed to winning the SB. "Their SB" is maximizing the revenue. These are definitely NOT the same thing.

I'm glad we have a window where we are clearly in the do-what-it-takes mode. Push them chips in. Fuck them picks!

I dunno, but Jim Rome said that in his show. I don't think he wasn't quoting any GMs, I don't think.

Well, on the other hand....
Would you say it was worth it to draft Tavon, Ogletree, GRob, Gurley & Goff to be ending up with Aaron Donald?

I had to listen to this again for the entertainment of it.

"A team will try to sell you on salary cap flexibility and we're developing our own talent. Rams are like...screw that!"

Salary cap banners hanging from the roof of SOFI. Gonna have to steal that one.

When did Jim start looking like a brown-haired, different-haircut version of Bill Maher?

I remember these guys saying the same stuff before the 2018 season. The Rams are sacrificing the future to win now. Their window will close in two years with that strategy. Here we are 3 years later and the window is still wide open. At some point is someone gonna say maybe that strategy is good? If we have 6 or 7 years of winning football then have a down year will people say "I told you so"? I remember when we had a boat load of high picks and every year was a down year.

What people fail to realize and it just utterly blows my mind is how dependent ALL QB's are on surrounding cast.

Russell Wilson, some said was the MVP!!!! Dude shit the bed vs us in the playoffs.

Aaron Rodgers who hasn't done shit in recent seasons lit us up for what could have been 50 points.

Does this mean Rodgers is that better than Wilson this year? If so, why not recent seasons?

The answer is RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE. Wilson had a shit Oline and Rodgers had a GREAT oline.

People will very quickly agree with this argument because it is undeniable. Wilson's play was dependent on his Oline.

Now when Goff is analyzed the dependency concept is dismissed even though is is clearly demonstrated with Wilson and Rodgers.

So MVP Wilson deteriorated to garbage because of Oline, Rodgers revived his career with the rebuilt Oline.

But Goff deteriorated because he didn't study film, partied and just sucked.

Some people have really biased views and inconsistent logic.

I don't say this because I think Goff is necessarily a better QB than Stafford. I actually have always liked Stafford's skillset.

I just hope to God Mcvay gets his mind straight and thinks we are home free with our surrounding cost.

Some people claiming Super Bowl by this one move are going to be highly shocked if nothing else changes.

BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH!!

I believe Mcvay has his system & trust in his ability of being a TEACHER of MEN.

Say what you want right now.
Will see how how Waldron does a the SeaHags OC with Wilson.

Matt Lafleur got out coached & made to many mistakes to beat Tampa.Another Mcvay prodigy.

Mcvay tried to trade for Aaron Rogers. He believes if The Rams
had Aaron Rogers instead of Jared Goff The Rams would be playing for a SuperBowl Championship.

You can say what you want to SAY about The Rams.I believe in the Players Mcvay puts on the field.I believe in Les Snead’s ability to
help change the roster when needed
& keep The Rams Franchise always having the a chance at the Playoffs & SuperBowl.
Fact Mcvay wanted to trade

The surprising thing to me is The Rams rosters have always been one of the youngest franchises every year under Les Snead.

The Rams aren’t afraid to keep kicking the Can until they get things right.

I still think Goff has a whole lot of potential. But I also think Stafford has elite talent. My only reservation is his age and how long he plays at his elite level. I can see him playing at this level for another 2-3 years.

This has elevated the Rams into a SB favorite. I agree you gotta love the Ram's all-in attitude. I don't worry at all about the 1st rounders. I've been saying it for a year. This team is essentially built. Drafts aren't to fill holes but to increase depth and anticipate roster attrition down the road.

Hell yeah go for it!
Keep him healthy and matt could be the next 40 yr old winning qb.
