I'm telling you guys right now, and I've called it since the beginning of the year, Rhaney will be a star Center in this league. He has all the tools to be great. Book it, buy your tickets, sell the farm, it's over. Demetrius Rhaney will be the starting Center for the St.Louis Rams.

Many are concerned about the inexperience of the line. And with good reason. Its not too often a team who considers themselves a contender has to rely on 4 of 5 guys who either have one year, less than one year or zero experience.

With all that said, do we really think it will be worse than last year? Many think we coulda easily won two or three more games with a better quarterback. And that is with poor line play.

As bad as last year's line was, its not unreasonable to expect this year's line to not be any worse. And we should have better quarterback play. And don't forget about that defense. They can make up for the offense's shortcomings giving them better field position and more possessions.

The inexperience is what worries me also. I think this years line will be the same (And possibly worse) than last year. The problems will be different though, it won't be physically incapable of doing the job (due to age), it will be poor technique (still learning), missed assignments (due to inexperience), general confusion during certain defensive formations/fakes/etc (due to experience). I think there will be plays where these guys will look awesome as they physically maul a D...and then there will be plays when 3 guys end up in the backfield with our Oline looking like they just stood there because 1 guy missed an assignment, resulting in another guy messing his up, etc...

I know if I was a Dcord preparing for the rams I would be planning plenty of confusion, showing certain blitz while actually doing others; overloading one side (or showing overload)...I would be trying to get into their heads and make them overthink things...

I think we are lucky DW is our Dcord....cause he is the sort of guy who would have a field day with these guys (or try to).

I think Fisher will try to mask those deficiencies by running more. But considering that even the run heavy teams pass half the time, there will be times when the line gets schooled. Lets just hope its not enough to cost them too many games.

My prediction is that Rhaney will outplay Jones and Barnes, but Fisher will start Barnes because he is more experienced.
I get this feeling too...but is that really so hard? Edit: Now that last part, experience does count for something...but talent should overrule....

Sounds like a sportsbook bet....Rhaney didn't look to bad last camp for sure.....It should make for a solid center, and excellent backup IMO.

Lol, there might be a difference between being a star center and that starting center for the Rams. Are you betting both, or just the starter?

I'm not overly worried about it. The do have a pretty good "D" to practice against, the O-Line will be ready come Week #1!!(y) (And they Fuckin' better Win that one!!) I'm having a :seizure: just thinking about it!!

Yep.
He jumped out last preseason. His ability to get to the second level run blocking is the real separator I think.

Rmfnlt doubting my confidence level:
Are you sure?????
(j/k)
Absolutely positive that we'll be as good or better.
On your left you can see one of last year's refrigerators with legs and on the right, this year's newer model. Notice that the newer model comes with flame retardant sucker gloves designed to help reduce friction burns caused by speed rushers blowing by them and coincidentally, serving as suckers that impede the rushers progress. We've seen them in action and they work even better than the gloves WRs use.

Bottom line is bigger, better, younger and stickier refrigerators.
