The heck with the NFL numbers! The NFL didn't give Deacon Jones any credit for making sacks, even though games videos bear him out, even though he was paid a bonus for each sack. So, consequently, the two most beautiful seasons in sack history---26 sacks (1967) followed the next year with 24 sacks---are not official NFL lore.
