Jameis Winston suspended for half vs. Clemson over obscenity incident

I haven't lived in Florida long, but it's common knowledge here that he probably did it. Why? Because athletes at FSU and Miami and even Florida have been getting away with rape and DV and assaults against women since...well, since anyone cared to remember.

In Florida, Football>>>>>>>>>>>>> Women. Looks don't matter, smarts don't matter....love don't matter.

That doesn't mean he did it. But it sure does mean that it wouldn't surprise me if it did AND that there is already a well worn road of support for him IF he did. There are already boosters and administrators IN PLACE to help him.

Now the victim? Well, I can't even be snarky about it... she gets the short end and usually leaves the school. I have YET to read a story where one of the victims GRADUATES.

So, if you asked me what's more likely? A) The girl made it up at a time BEFORE Jameis Winston was a household name... OR... Option B) Jameis Winston did it and the Athletic Dept, FSU admin, local law enforcement and boosters ONCE AGAIN circled the wagons around a potential star athlete.

I'm gonna go with Option B...

It's too often cloudy and filled with contradictions.......

But.........

When I hear a rape accusation against a celebrity or a high profile athlete it's always "wait and see" for me because of the amount of false allegations for payment. With the general public I don't have that initial feeling of "prove it".

When I hear one party (the accused) say "it was consensual" and the other party (the accuser) say "no it wasn't" the first thing I think of is roofies/alcohol etc.

I'm jaded.
 
I try not to come to a conclusion with rape. Let the courts decide it. Without evidence, you really have no idea and it's far too uncertain for me to make that sort of judgement.

When this happened, Jameis Winston wasn't exactly a household name. So, the whole "celebrity" thing didn't exist at the time. He was clearly an up and coming athlete that the program was looking to, but not someone that was a celebrity and it's possible that he'd still have to introduce himself around campus.

my whole point a few pages ago was that:

if Saul T.Balls did this, it wouldnt be a story..let alone 5 pages of discussion here

JW did it while in the public eye...he should know better by now

back up north now...have renters in the condo Oct 1st.-March this year..first year ever rented out the whole winter :) $$
 
I made so many mistakes growing up the only one willing to hire me was the military. Everyone has some things in their youth that's embarrassing. However, shouting that out while having a rape allegation hanging over your head is a level of stupidity that most of us didn't possess. The team that drafts this kid is taking a huge risk, IMO.

Yeah JMO the NCAA has a bigger problem than the NFL when it comes to violence against women
eventually they're gonna have to



The media and the advocacy groups are way behind the curve on that front and WHY ?


It makes you a target no matter how clean you are
