How did a thread about Ramsey, Rams, then Steelers turn into a thread about Purdy and the 49ers? Come on guys, I know everybody is not in mid-season form yet, but damn...lol

I think the Ramsey discussion has been beaten to death. So we started to stray since there’s nothing left to say about it until we see him play in Pittsburgh.

I don't talk about them unless I can throw a fuck the Whiners in there.....also stop praising their coach. We want them to fire him.

I have a real hard time believing a team would give a player such a large contract while issues that are suggested were happening
Because many teams either believe "that just won't happen here" or have a culture that limits or eliminates that stuff. Hell, our Rams have the latter. There's no doubt Odell had issues elsewhere, for whatever reason doesn't really matter. Creating problems for any reason is creating problems. On the flip side, we're talking about talented players who can improve a roster. But that's because the less talented can't pull shit without being shipped out immediately. Ramsey created problems in Jacksonville (and now Miami). This could be click bait, could be real. And it could be one of the reasons the Rams traded him. We all know DK Metcalf has a habit of ranting and raving on the sideline, sticking his head up his own ass. We all remember the game he was pissed he wasn't getting the ball and DWill anticipated the WR screen and took it to the house. The Steelers gave him a four year 132 mil deal. They're sure he won't pull that crap in Pittsburgh. They signed Rodgers. It's pretty clear, "past issues" don't matter to them right now.

They gave him an extension after he had played a full season there, they knew what they had in him. McDaniel has been losing the locker room and Ramsey is just another example
And Ramsey didnt create the problems in Jacksonville, Coughlin did

I can't wait to see DK lose his shit there as we all know he's a fuckin cry baby. No way Tomlin is controlling him as all his diva WRs act up in Pissburg.

The first one is fact. I'm not saying those last two aren't facts, mind you, but they are opinions......from whatever sources, inside or outside of the organization. But like I said, creating problems for any reason is still creating problems. It can give a guy the image of "when things are going good, he's a great guy but when things head south, he's an asshole (or whatever)". So Ramsey created problems in two places when things were going south (maybe 3 ??? Perhaps he wasn't the same JR in 2022, he was previously? ) . Like I said in a previous post, he had a back injury in Jacksonville that miraculously disappeared once he came to the Rams. In Miami, he wasn't at OTA's etc. What's that old limerick from Judge Smails?

True. But that is where Rodgers is an advantage for them. He doesn't fuck around. If DK throws that tantrum shit he'll find himself on the outside looking in as it pertains to reads. The oldschool QBs know how to use distribution to their advantage.

I'll bet by the time the season rolls around DK will recognize it's in his best interest to check that shit. Not that he won't throw tantrums. But it won't be like it was with Carroll, where nobody slowed that behavior.

Also I expect Rodgers will ride Wilson in the pass game and he'll emerge as a threat for them. Clearly Rodgers is running on fumes, he doesn't have a lot of time left, but he's still a savvy vet who will recognize that Woody is limited, Austin is their Tutu, and Metcalf is limited in his route tree. So by extension Wilson's the hope for that offense and if they can get him going then they should have Metcalf and Austin to stretch it, and Wilson and Friermuth to move the chains.

If Wilson doesn't emerge it will be ugly for Rodgers because they won't have enough threats.

Well I dont agree. The Rams vetted him out, the Jacksonville situation was awful and he wasnt the only player who escaped that mess.
Ramsey was an elite player at one time, the Rams were thrilled to bring him aboard and he was a huge part of the success of the team that won a Superbowl. McVay said they would have like to have kept him and also said he would have liked to have him back, the Rams were reported to have been interested in trading for him.
Alas, It's not a narrative to believe in what has been said, it becomes a narrative when one chooses to pick and choose "what to believe"
In any event, he's a Steeler now

I'm not sure DK is bright enough to not cut the BS out but we shalll see. He isn't the brightest dude for whatever reason.
