I’ve see Rams make many smart decisions since 2017. However…

RB is an enormous problem. Henderson has done this shit every single time he's been the guy, or every single time we have needed him to be the guy even spelling Gurley. He cannot stay healthy and when he's in there he does not provide any sustainment of the ground game.

What is so aggravating to me is that the Rams are blind to this. Or at least that they are not willing to sit him and give Michel a chance to provide what we lack with Hendy in there. The Green Bay game Michel came in they scored a TD then next possession oh hey it's Hendy time again. I am about fed the fuck up with this BS.

Howell didn't move the needle either btw. The way the blocking has been of late they really need someone who will put his head down and make tough yards. Only guy on this roster who fits that is Michel and they need to add another back who can bring that element to replace Howell.

I know McVay loves him some speedy pass catching backs. I get it. But at this moment in time that is NOT what we need. We're not gonna find a speed back who can also get tough yards at this time of year, those guys are all on rosters right now. But we can find a physical back. Address the fucking need GM.
One of my suspicions is we are starting to look very “patternistic” to other teams defenses. This tends to be a problem with “smart” offensive minds…”Martz”…if you think the problem is just execution, when it is really scheme, you are lost without a compass. If you understand McVays tendencies, you, as a smart defensive coordinator can induce him to play your game…and abandon the run. My trust took a big hit against the Packers, when on our second possession on our own 12 yard line, McVay empties out the backfield…huh? After 2 weeks to prepare, he pulls this crap out…on our 12??? Then Stafford got stripsacked…I’m beginning to think Sean can’t help himself.

Great post @43. I have been banging the turnover drum, but one thing I was also thinking about is where are all the splash plays on defense this year? Last year, D Williams made some great plays, Troy Hill made some great plays, John Johnson made plays, Ramsey, Donald, Morgan Fox, Floyd, etc, etc. This year... not much! In camp we thought they had the best secondary in the league, but they are not playing great. They never get any turnovers or splash plays from this unit, other than Ramsey. Is it scheme? Personnel? I don't know.

If Stafford was playing just at his normal average self, and Morris called a more aggressive defensive game and then made a few adjustments as warranted, this thread may not exist.

There’s nothing wrong with the DL. Even with SJD out, they’re very solid. Gaines & Robinson have been very good.
We shall see.

In two of the biggest games this season, both blowout losses, the Rams run D yielded +200 yards rushing in the Cardinal game and gave up +150 yards to the 49er's.

They get another chance at those teams along with the Ravens, the #2 rushing team in the NFL.

How the mighty have fallen?

By the end of today, the Rams will be 8-4, which is a winning % of .667.

In the previous two years, the Rams were 19-13 (.594).

The Rams, like any team, have made mistakes. I would not say they have “fallen.”

I think that what we are worried about is what happens after today. They could easily (likely?) go on another three or more game losing streak.
It seems like the team's problems are beyond McVay's ability to fix, as they have done pretty much nothing in that regard for a month now.

Hello - how much have you studied Mcvay? Know one around here that I’ve seen has answered my question of why ? There is only 1 main reason I could tell you or give you a legitimate reason. I won’t say I’m right either.Just a solid take.

I’m not happy with Mcvay’s play calling.Never bought into The Little Genius thing. My answer does involve Thomas Brown,Phillips & mainly Kevin O’Connell. Yes Mcvay is also the corporate of it all though.

Did you see the stats a month ago when everyone was complaining about Raheem Morris only ?

Ernest Jones did have one.Just to add one I recall for sure.

If my numbers are right this should be in Blue Font ?

no splash plays because we play too soft and not aggressive enough..hardly any man to man. Look at Dallas now that team plays aggressively on D. Splash plays galore on D. Question would you rather have our D now or our D when Gregg Williams was the coordinator. That D looked amazing one week but then got torched the following week usually on the ground. BTW So Ram your writing style has grown on me and you make great points Im starting to write like you

Whatcha talking about Willis.

To your point about Sean Mcvay he always says it is not a given to win in The NFL. I just got illuminated from the survivor.Wondering about your predictions as well.

Done nothing ? Uhh - imo there is only the first loss that was totally
uncalled for & really upsetting if your looking from a scheduling stand point.
Predicted The Rams Lossing more games than they win in the next 5 or 6 games is almost silly.Truth is The Rams still have to earn there right to make the playoffs. I go back to all the Haters from 2019. Last year The Rams we’re in the same place.Murray was hurt to keep Arizona out of it .

Have to correct myself if I’m saying it will be easy though
Jags today -

then @ Cards(MNF)
H - Hags
@ Vikings
@Baltimore

Then 9ers at SOFI — might need to find nosebleeds ? Well loyal said The Rams wouldn’t lose at Home.Right now I’d say TODAY’s game is a STATEMENT GAME. Just from a Rams(NFL) standpoint they need to get out of this Jake FUNK!!

LMAO - I’ll just give a comparison of the D” from last season.

Raheem Morris was the DC & then did better as a HC. I guess that little puzzle has enough clues.I love the Haters & negative effects. We also should have heard the stats quote & who they are for.

I will say the last 2 games have been very frustrating.I like The Rams health & the way The Defense is going (have) to come together.

Have to look up where Greg Williams is.Is there a QB that was injured from a late hit last week? Oh - I think just as a flashback it might have been the Saints.

Funny thing is I don’t see The Rams ever getting rid of Raheem Morris without a Comp Pick or seeing him do a Lovie Smith.

Shows you how bad my math is. I can’t even get the numbers right.

My answer is .571% winning percent before today’s game.Which I know is over 50% wrong.

Go Rams! Yes a 8-4 record is a must.Sad to think the 9ers are only less than a game behind The Rams after a 3-6 start.

Do you think overall, this 2021 roster is more talented than the 2017 or 2018 roster? I'm having a difficult time saying yes.
I would begin with the QB position and go on from there. I would also bring up the fact that the 2017 & 2018 rosters were filled with HC Fisher selections & purchases, not having any of HC McVay's involvement in them being a Ram during that time.

I really do not see many of those 2017 & 2018 players having any major impact with their talent in the NFL after their very quick departures.

What we could agree on is that the 2017 RB cadre was more talented than what we began this season with after the Cam Akers injury. I would say that one injury might end up being identified as the key element that ended early in the 2021 SB championship for this team.

Sadly it's a fact that Henderson is not a primary lead RB in the NFL, he has never been. He should not be considered any better than a #3 RB on any roster due to his major inability to remain healthy & this was evident before this season began. Snead & McVay rolled on anyway.

Rams will have lost five running backs to season-ending injuries.

You are assuming what needs to be proved-- that we will win today. At the moment we are 7-4, the same as last year, and 1-2 in the NFC West. Not exactly "fallen"... yet... but not better.

Last year we went 10-6 and won a playoff game. Are we going to win 4 more games this year? Are we going to win a playoff game?

Tough schedule. Remains to be seen.

The niners averaged less than 4 yards a carry and were able to keep running because the D couldn't get any stops on 3rd down.
The offense just didn't show up against AZ and by the 4th the D was exhausted.
The Dline is solid. If there's an issue on run D, it's the ILBs.

Decamallis looked like a good hire considering he did a good job over at jax, Morris on the other hand was always a head scratcher.
