Brings a lot of knowledge and leadership to the D.

I all in for keeping our soon to be 33 yr old corner Aqib Talib in our Wade secondary as long as possible. AT is under contract for 1 more season here in LA. Not sure he can be the #1 outside corner much longer though ...we will get more information under the big test this Sunday...however I am convinced that AT could perfrom in the high safety post for 2 to 3 yrs longer if Wade will make some programed adjustments in his DB scheme in how he interchanges his Free/Strong safeties.

AT is our biggest DB currently on our roster ...over 6-1 & over 210lbs along with his 11 seasons in the NFL, 10 seasons as a starter. AT been to the Pro Bowl 5 times as late as 2017.

Rams secondary will undergo a serious turnover in this off season. Snead has SIX current DB's currently under contract who will be needing a new contract for the first of March this year in Free agency. That does not include starting CB Marcus Peters IMO should be released when this season ends....No way the Rams pay Peters over $9 million contract for this weak coverage, poor tackling, classless non team player who attracts big costly yellow laundry every game.......Peters release will make SEVEN possibly departing.

Wade does have 3 DB's under contract to his secondary.......Nickle corner Nickell Robey-Coleman, Strong Safeties John Johnson & Marqui Christian. I expect @ least 2 to 3 new rookie DB's coming in here from this upcoming draft. Having a well-seasoned veteran Aqib Talib DB would prove invaluable to the new rebuilt young secondary for the next few yrs. ;)

I say when he’s done at corner we do with him what we did w Aeneas Williams and use him at safety for another 5 years!

Talib just hurt himself making a tackle .

IMO - I think The Rams keep a lot of the CB’s they still have. The guys on IR as well ??

My question would be who they get at FS. Talib & Peters are tight & don’t see any change this coming up season there. Both are under contract as well. If The Rams paid Joyner & Barron both huge contracts why not a ascending CB ? I’m not the biggest Peters fan, but think he will get better with another off season.
There is no way in the world I see AT play FS .

I really like the way Talib handled the straight arm of Zeke Saturday. He really showed how it’s done. Grab the arm, pull it and the runner down by wrapping up after doing away with that arm. The guy is simply a football player that is also a great presence on the field.

It looked like an arm drag takedown you see in wrestling.

It’s crazy what they let offensive players get away with, most of those stiff arms go right to the face mask, some guys even grab. Seems like it’s really difficult to make a tackle on a guy if he’s forcing your head up in the air. The defense is already at a disadvantage trying to tackle shoulder pads and knees, and if the defender touches the helmet it’s a penalty.

How does Aqib Talib help the defense? John Johnson explains with one play from the Divisional round
By Myles Simmons

Much has been made throughout the week of the fact that cornerback Aqib Talib didn’t play in the Week 9 matchup between the Rams and Saints, and now he’s back. The defense has been playing better since Talib’s return, to be sure. Players and coaches alike have acknowledged the benefits of the veteran corner both on and off the field. But on Friday, safety John Johnson explained exactly where that’s come into play.

In the Divisional round victory over the Cowboys, Johnson said there was a play that Talib predicted even before Dallas left the huddle. The situation? Dallas had 4th-and-1 at the L.A. 42 in the fourth quarter. The Rams were up 30-15 after C.J. Anderson ran in a one-yard touchdown on 4th-and-goal from the one. Dallas had gone for it on fourth down multiple times earlier in the game — including to start the fourth quarter, where L.A. stuffed running back Ezekiel Elliott behind the line of scrimmage.

But this time, Talib figured what was coming.“[H]e called something out and I couldn't believe it — I had to believe it. It went just exactly how he said it in the game,” Johnson said. “He converted, right. But, we completely just went rouge of what the coverage was. It worked for us, but he kind of got around and got the first down.”

The Rams weren’t quite able to stop the Cowboys on the play, as Prescott faked to Elliott, then rolled to his right before scrambling for just enough to get a first down. But Prescott had to use his legs because the Rams were able to get the receivers covered in the flat and on the intermediate level — leaving him no other option.

Johnson has said before that Talib’s presence puts everyone on the defense “at ease.” If he improves communication that much in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Sunday, it should be a significant boost to the Rams’ chances for a victory.“He knows everything,” Johnson said. “He’s played in this league for a long time so it's great to have him with us.”

This is why I want Talib to be a Ram for many more seasons.

And kudos to Johnson for recognizing Talib's experience and intelligence. More 'we not me.'

Talib keeps the entire team involved in the game. He seems the most talkative player since listening to these wired segments. It's the playoffs and he is not messing around. He is all in as the leader of the Rams defense.
