The island of Inis Oírr actually, it's off the west cost in Galway Bay. The Isle of Man isn pretty nice, but I think they're technically still under the crown, and we can't be having that now.
Gran is holding up, memory is going so we thought it would be easier to take her to a lifestyle closer to that of when she grew up, which means very slow and old school. Planting in the backyard garden, gathering seaweed, no cars, no takeaway or anything like that, very old school rural island Ireland. Doesn't help the memory really, but she was mostly forgetting English, so allowing her brain to just focus on one language makes her happier. She was convinced that she would catch covid, but the island is so small that anytime the country went into level 5 lockdown there was basically no risk to anyone living there. There was only a couple of hundred of us.
