If we had to share, I'd go Chargers. We could change our uniforms to the throwbacks, or a modified version, and have a cohesive color scheme for the stadium.

. I firmly believe that the Chargers will be joining the Rams in Inglewood soon.

Spanos is expected to quickly embrace Inglewood

Chargers owner Dean Spanos emerged from Tuesday’s meeting with the ability to leave San Diego, but with an inability to move to the specific area of Los Angeles that he preferred. So what will he do next?

The thinking among the owners is that, once Spanos has a chance to process the opportunity in Inglewood, he’ll pounce.

Yes, it’s fair to wonder whether Rams owner Stan Kroenke will drive too hard of a bargain in the hopes of keeping a second team out of L.A. But, per multiple sources, Kroenke has promised the rest of the owners that he’ll be reasonable. Kroenke also, we’re told, has reduced to writing various commitments regarding the terms pursuant to which he’ll accept a second team in his new stadium.

As one source tells PFT, the Chargers already have begun working directly with the league to finalize the parameters for a deal in Inglewood, and the NFL will be directly involved in negotiations, if necessary.

There’s another reason for Kroenke to work something out. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Kroenke currently can’t begin selling premium products such as naming rights, club seats, PSLs, and sponsorships at the temporary stadium (most likely the Coliseum) until 2017. If Kroenke makes a deal with the Chargers now, Kroenke can begin to sell premium products immediately.

The only lingering question is whether Spanos will choose to be a tenant or a partner. While partnership may be preferred, Spanos will have to be ready, willing, and able to write a check for half of the expenses required to get the stadium built. And if more of the overall development gets pulled into the partnership pot, the cost of equity and the risk that goes along with it gets even higher.

Given the $550 million relocation fee that the Chargers also would have to pay, Spanos could eventually opt to be a tenant.

Tenant or partner, it’s a deal that other owners think Spanos would be crazy not to do. As one source told PFT, “99 out of 100 would take this deal.”

The fact that Mark Davis and the Raiders will get the next crack at the deal if Dean Spanos doesn’t want it makes it even more likely that Spanos will be among the 99.

I agree don't want to share the stadium at all. from what i understand the raiders option only exists if the chargers turn down the move to LA at which point they would get the option to go. Mark Davis seemed interested in this option if it presents itself. no idea what the chargers are thinking
I, personally , hated the Raiders being in L.A. before , and I don't want them back! They belong in Oakland in my 'Old' opinion! And their lease is up now so who knows what they will do a year or so from now!

Spanos didn't seem all that excited about the idea last night, to me anyway!

He was taken by surprise and outmaneuvered. Now his options are limited. Hope he chooses to stay in San Diego. He's actually in a good position to get what he wants there since his team has gotten the go-ahead to relocate.

As a Chargers fan: our owner is a pathetic moron who is incapable of making the right decision. I firmly believe that the Chargers will be joining the Rams in Inglewood soon.

A smart owner would realize that they just got their ass handed to them and cut a deal with San Diego. But this is Dean Spanos. The guy who chose Bobby Beathard over Bobby Ross, who hired Norv Turner and kept him for years past his sell-by date, who just managed to go 4-12 with one of the handful of elite franchise quarterbacks in the NFL. He is not a smart owner.

Spanos voted against his own project?! Has he explained that?

Plus you can add in the fact that the commish said the league would kick in 100,000,000 for him to do with as he pleases!

I think San Diego might get that stadium deal done with Spanos. LA is real now, and the Chargers will be gone regardless of what Spanos says if the city doesn't pass that vote. So IMO there's a good chance it gets done.

The NFL is going to need to help Davis. Both teams get $100 million and I think the NFL will try to help him get something done up north. It is a longshot, but still the effort will be there. Why?

Because having one team in LA ensures the NFL can continue to hold teams around the league hostage with threat of move.

I think it's about $100 million thrown in to help finance the stadium. With the $200 they already would have from the NFL it becomes $300 million, and then the city of San Diego has the $350 million referendum coming up this summer. $650 million isn't enough, but it's ballpark to get real serious and get something done with additional investors thrown in.

Makes sense. If the writing's on the wall, take what you can.

$650 isn't bad at all. You still have PSLs and naming rights.

Spanos or Davis should consider moving to St. Louis. Hell, there is a stadium plan already in place. While it originated as a plan to keep the Rams, there is no reason why it can't be another team.

Plus, with both teams being AFC West teams, and the Cheifs being right across the state, a division rivalry could also turn into an intrastate rivalry.

I'll still be a Rams fan, but still would like St. Louis to get something out of this. The fans there deserve it.

After listening to Mark Davis speak it seems almost certain either the Chargers or Raiders will be joining the Rams in LA. He expressed that if the Chargers turn down the LA move he would jump at the opportunity.

That being said, who would you prefer to share a home with? The Chargers? Or the Raiders?
Chargers. Rams and Raiders might kill each other, and the fanbases are way different, IMO.

That being said, I'd like for the Chargers to remain in San Diego, for their fans, although they have a lot of LA fans.

at first I didn't like the idea of a shared stadium . having my doubts that money hungry stan cares about putting a wining team on the field maybe the competition for fans will put more pressure on him to put a wining team on the field

Very true but I think simply playing in the city of LA will put that pressure on the organization.

Report: Chargers plan to accept L.A. deal, share stadium with Rams
Posted by Michael David Smith on January 13, 2016

We already know the Rams are returning to Los Angeles, and it’s looking like the Chargers will as well.

Alex Flanagan of NBC Sports and NFL Network reports that the framework of a deal that would allow the Rams and Chargers to share a stadium is now in place, and that barring anything unforeseen, the Chargers will accept the deal and move to Los Angeles as well.

The Chargers were hoping to get the approval of their fellow owners for their own plan to move to Los Angeles yesterday. Instead, the owners approved the Rams’ plan, but said that the Chargers would have the option of joining with the Rams. It appears that after a day to think about it, the Chargers have decided to accept that arrangement.

It’s unclear whether the Chargers will move to a temporary home in Los Angeles in 2016, as the Rams plan to do, or if the Chargers could stay in San Diego this year. But it sounds like when the new Los Angeles stadium opens in 2019, it will be the home of both the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers.

Geeze I hope it's not the Chargers. They truly have great fans who don't deserve that, hell the attendance was excellent this year. Most of my friends bleed powder blue and it would just be weird here in SD with no Chargers. Selfishly, I want the Rams to share that beautiful market with no one. Let them get back to being a top five franchise.
Charger fans are like most So Cal football fans....if they win, they have good crowds, if not, they dont. For years when I lived in SD you could walk up and buy tickets game day most times. The team wasn't good, so, interest in spending money to go was so-so.
I think it would be a mistake to add another team to LA. Hopefully they stay where they are. The Raiders are Oakland and vice versa, would be a shame if they move.

Both have the shittiest stadiums in the NFL. Qualcomm is a shithole. I haven't been to the black hole, but I hear the same. The thing about LA is there are almost as many Cowboys fans as Raiders or Rams. When we play there, it'll almost certainly be a home game every time.

Spanos has three options , pay Kroenke 1.25 Billion dollars to be equal partners with Kroenke , because you know that new stadium will end up costing 2.50 Billion by the time it's done

Sign a lease and pay rent to Kroenke and be always known as the 2nd team in Los Angeles

or try and work something out in San Diego , but time is running out there , they have to make up their mind where their playing in 2016 , which gives them about two months , because if they wait till the June vote , it will be to late and will open up the door for Davis

I don't want either one of them to be in Los Angeles ,

Spanos battle for Los Angeles had less to do with a new stadium , and more to do with the Rams moving to Los Angeles and taking away a good part of his fan base , but he lost that battle , does he return to San Diego with his tail between his leg and be the big fish in a little pond or move to Los Angeles and be the little fish in a big pond

will be interesting to watch
