Have the Rams commented on this before? I saw this headline on Pat McAfee.

I’m calling it now, they won’t announce anything regarding AD at the announcement. It’ll be uniforms and people will be anxious, but I don’t see it happening until during pre-season at the earliest.

I would say even a few games into the season, but AD has said how much he “really don’t like them guys” referring to the Niners so I could see him pushing to be ready and play in Australia.

I would think if AD was gonna be here from the start of camp we would know by now. So he's not likely he'll be there tomorrow. Its anyone's guess when or if he will return. Most people think its more a matter of when than if.

As far as the uniforms, I might be in the minority but the yellow isn't working for me. I don't hate the whites. But the one uniform for me is the one they wore through the 1999 season. Some people call them the Ferragamo's.

Then there are the guys who are eligible for a contract extension. I think Puka's a no brainer. I still consider him the best receiver in the league because he can do more things than guys like JSN, Jefferson or Chase. And no one is better at the contested catches.

I think they can get deals done for Turner and Young. I also think Dotson needs to be a priority. If Avila is cheap enough that would be great. If not, then they have to let him walk.

McClendon is the guy I think should be done earlier rather than later. I have a feeling he's gonna have a good year. Right now he's not well known and has a smaller sample size in games played. I think extending him now would be cheaper than waiting till after the year. If he has a good year he won't be cheap.

A feeling or info?
No. No. No info. Just looking at all the tea leaves.

Clearly he wants to come back so this isn't just some media rumor.
Everybody seems to believe he'll only come back if he feels he's in good enough shape to be A.D.. I know he's 35 and hasn't played in 2 years but when has Aaron Donald not been able to get himself into game shape? I've been 33 and I've been 35 and there's a difference but it ain't that huge. And he's Aaron Donald so it's even closer than that.
The insiders like Wyche, etc. all seem to have a slight gleem in their eye. IMO, they're underplaying the possibility.

So I'm just saying, "it's happening" ...... and it happening under our noses.

And @Andre....by no means am I trying to screw with your reverse psychology guarantee.

Just think if he decided to come back back in March. We could have kept Verse, spent our first pick on a Lemon or Bain, kept our 27' first for a QB, and then kept our 2nd and 3rd in 28' and 29' respectively.

We would still have one of the best DL's on the league, all of that draft capital, and more immediate help with that 1st round pick this year.

Now, I like that we have Simpson in the building, but looking at the other side of it, if Donald would have comeback without Garrett, we would still have a hell of a defensive upgrade with Donald, McDuffie, and Watson, to go along with Verse.

IMHO, Arron Donald wouldn’t even consider coming back if the Rams don’t trade for Garrett. If he’s coming back, it’s to play alongside Garrett.

Yeah, I get that, but just saying his addition would have been great had he comeback with the SB in LA and a stacked roster even without Garrett. Then you keep Verse and the picks.

This what if has been out there since he retired. He wasn't going to come back. So you might as well what if you won the lotto. Dream on.

I'd much rather have what we have now.

Garrett >> Verse + draft picks

Simpson > '27 QB at #32

Garrett was the triggering event for Donald considering a comeback. Not Stafford, McDuffie or Watson.

To add to this, when do the Rams ever patiently wait for an important position?

They probably would have traded the '27 1st, '28 1st and '29 draft capital to move up for a QB they really liked.

I doubt doing a different path would ultimately have ended with them having more draft capital.

AD hated the constant double and triple teams. AD is only tempted to come back because the Garrett signing means teams wouldn't gameplan against AD alone.
It was very visible at the end that the triple teams was burning AD out.

It's like when hundreds of Smiths swarmed and restrained Neo and his only move was to fly away.
