If AD99, The Kraken!, does, indeed, return to play with Myles & Co., this defense will require its own special name. :fistbump1:

This is just too much to hope for. I'm going to temper my enthusiasm as it seems like something that just couldn't happen. That said... Please AD. Come back to destroy some O-lines. You know you want to.

Dude is 35 and two years removed from the league...harder ask than I think people realize. Though given his fitness level, who knows!

Sure. For normal players. But we're talking AD, the most impressive physical specimen of his time. He's obviously in shape. He probably misses it to a degree. And he thoroughly enjoyed winning a Super Bowl. So who knows. I'm not gonna get my heart set on it but........

Yeah... It's just never going to happen.

I’m saying 35% chance but trending higher. Wonder what the relationship between AD, MG and Kobie Turner (cast over leader) is?

I can't see him being the same dominant Aaron Donald he was a few years ago. Not at 35. But even with that he'd probably be a pro bowl caliber DT. He has two less seasons of wear and tear. To me that is like he's 32 and still a force. Imagine a front with Garrett, Donald, Fiske, Kobie and Young. Poona and Stewart adding depth. Who do you double team? With a much improved secondary.

I hope Donald stays retired. He was starting to slow a bit toward the end. I don't want a "Dream Team". Those teams always seem to crash and burn.

If slowing down is being injured and then still having a following season where you’re producing 8 sacks while beating triple teams and being rotated out is slowing down, then sign me up. A “slowed down” Aaron Donald is still the best interior lineman on the team

Not a betting man but if I were I would not bet on his coming back. Then again, I didn't think this trade would actually happen either...

IF he comes back - and that's a big IF - I can see him doing so for the back half of the season and being a part-timer until the playoffs.

Bring him in when you need another closer on the field and leave the play-to-play action to Kobie, Braden and Poona along the DLine.

Until the playoffs ... :)

I could see him come back on a limited basis.

But I really don't think he comes out of retirement.

That was said quite a bit in 2021. People assumed because the Eagles Dream Team flopped a decade earlier it meant the Rams would flop. Well, we know how that worked out.

I think the IDEA of what Eric Weedle did for The Rams.He really was The Rams Playoff MVP! He kept things together.
The reason I would even think that was exactly what a article(AD99) said about coming out of retirement.
The COST(salary cap) would be the biggest issue.
AD 99 saying if The FIRE is still burning ? He has to think he could be that anchor in the Playoffs to stabilize The RAMS DEFENSE.He isn’t looking forward to The Grind !!
He isn’t thinking about STATS,he wants another RING if given the chance. How much he wants it is another question.

To me it sounds like he's seriously thinking about it which is a different answer than we've gotten in the past.

It seems like a real situation to keep an eye on sometime around training camp when he comes for his usual visit, I think that would be the time those conversations happen behind the scenes.

Even he comes back as a situational pass rusher why not? Imagine him coming in with little wear and tear on 3rd downs.
