Akers and now Cupp maybe calling out McVay and this running game. Does it help?

What did Kupp say/do that makes you think that? Curious here.

I think McVay and Snead know there's a problem. Part of it is the OL. Part of it is the HBs. I believe we're looking for solutions. And I fully believe we're going to make a move for a HB.

.

Every time rivers caught a screen pass it looked like he was running through quicksand. His feet were moving quickly but his body sure wasn't.

I say wait for Tuesday to pass judgment. I think the Rams will pull out all the stops to get Burns and Corbett from the Panthers. Corbett replaces the swinging gate of Edwards/Evans. Williams has yet to play. We also could see the return of Michel. Sony was a huge piece of that SB run and it was a mistake to let him walk. He's not fast but hes an outstanding pass blocker and a true grinder of a RB. Thats what you need when the OL is shaky. Both Corbett and Michel know the system so they can play immediately. Burns need only play DE with Hollins at WIL behind him.. Having HOllins at WIL it frees up Wagner to be the occasional blitzer.

This team ran the table in the playoffs as a wildcard. They can do it again if need be. Morris needs to play Rochell and Durant because they bring something Hendricks and Hill don't....SPEED. With Hill and Hendricks they have to play with big cushions because they lack deep speed.

You obviously need to read the lines first, because then you would see that Kupp is not the type of person who would call out the coach in front of the team like Akers did. He might approach him privately, but he’d never call him out.

Definitely not calling Mcvay out. Acknowledging the run game problem, yes. Even Mcvay is doing that. He says he's not going to make any excuses, which reading between the lines is probably acknowledging the injuries forcing backups into duty as root cause.

Krupp is just stating the obvious.

Higbee is a problem as well. He is (has) playing hurt. The Grind has been too much. The Rams won the Super Bowl without him.

They don't have the assets to get Burns, not even close. 2nd and 3rd are the only value picks left for 2023. The Rams aren't the only team looking at acquisitions, and just about any other team out there can really easily outbid them. Especially for premier names like Chubb, Hunt, Kamara, etc....

We are used to seeing big splash moves, but the cupboards are full of nothing but cobwebs. Akers has value, but he is a RB and teams know the Rams want to move him. The running game is going to be ugly until the O-line gets healthier, and I don't see any big moves being made there. Unfortunately I think we are going to have to grin and bear until that happens.

The name of the game should be keep Stafford from looking like a MASH unit until the line can stop rolling out guys who never should have started let alone been on the active game day roster. They are beyond playing JAGs even at this point.

You may be big on reading between the lines in the same way as I'm big on satisfying the ladies.

Sadly, we both suck in reality.

Kupp calling out McVay?

You're more likely to hear Skip Bayless was caught knocking one out over a Matthew Stafford picture,

Literally impossible
Trading Corbett gets Carolina an 8+ mill dead cap hit, which in itself would rule out the Rams for having sufficient draft capital to trade. Then throw in a guy who's on track for a career high in sacks, with a year left on his deal who wouldnt be traded for a minimum of at 1 1st round pick in 2023, likely other top 100 picks to go with?
Let me guess, we'll throw in all of the players we dont want and think that will make it work?

I doubt we're looking to pay that price. My guess is Hunt. If somebody else swoops in on him. maybe David Montgomery or Antonio Gibson.
I also think the Rams need to add a Guard that is that not expensive. I do think Hunt would add some attitude to the run game, but it would be nice if the Rams could and an OL too and then go from there.

I dunno. Its a risk. I'm not sure this is a playoff team either way. Giving up day 2 picks is risky if they have to reset things next year and beyond. Donald, Wagner, Kupp, Robinson, Floyd, Havenstein and Higbee will all be 30 or older next season. Donald will be 32. Wagner will be 33.

Ramsey will be 29. Henderson will be a free agent. Things are gonna change real soon between age and free agency. Maybe they need to think about keeping picks now. How are we gonna replace those guys in the next 2 or 3 years? We had a number of former first or second round picks on the roster. Now those guys are probably reaching the part of their careers where injuries happen more often.
