I say wait for Tuesday to pass judgment. I think the Rams will pull out all the stops to get Burns and Corbett from the Panthers. Corbett replaces the swinging gate of Edwards/Evans. Williams has yet to play. We also could see the return of Michel. Sony was a huge piece of that SB run and it was a mistake to let him walk. He's not fast but hes an outstanding pass blocker and a true grinder of a RB. Thats what you need when the OL is shaky. Both Corbett and Michel know the system so they can play immediately. Burns need only play DE with Hollins at WIL behind him.. Having HOllins at WIL it frees up Wagner to be the occasional blitzer.
This team ran the table in the playoffs as a wildcard. They can do it again if need be. Morris needs to play Rochell and Durant because they bring something Hendricks and Hill don't....SPEED. With Hill and Hendricks they have to play with big cushions because they lack deep speed.
They don't have the assets to get Burns, not even close. 2nd and 3rd are the only value picks left for 2023. The Rams aren't the only team looking at acquisitions, and just about any other team out there can really easily outbid them. Especially for premier names like Chubb, Hunt, Kamara, etc....
We are used to seeing big splash moves, but the cupboards are full of nothing but cobwebs. Akers has value, but he is a RB and teams know the Rams want to move him. The running game is going to be ugly until the O-line gets healthier, and I don't see any big moves being made there. Unfortunately I think we are going to have to grin and bear until that happens.
The name of the game should be keep Stafford from looking like a MASH unit until the line can stop rolling out guys who never should have started let alone been on the active game day roster. They are beyond playing JAGs even at this point.
